Biran Ka Gumbad, Delhi - Featured Reviews (36)
Biran ka Gumbad. Also from the Lodi period, this is very similar to the Dadi-Poti tombs with arched niches and appearing two-storeyed. A ruined well with its drawing wheel still exists in the complex. The colossal size of the tomb and ornamentation implies it to be of a nobleman. After the long walk satisfying our soul, it's gratifying that food is just a few metres away. The Hauz Khas village with its mouth-watering digs is around the corner, so is the highlight of the area, the Madrassa and fort complex
The Biran ka Gumbad is a dome that literally means the domed building of the brother but no one whos who's brother. This name was probably coined in jest to complement the Dadi-Poti Grandma-Grand Daughter Tombs nearby. The side entrance is permanently closed with an iron gate. Like many other un-inscribed buildings in the area, not much is known about the history of this monument. The back side of the dome is covered with an iron grill. There is also a Lodi era covered well on the premises. The main entrance is inaccessible due to the steps and was also closed with an iron gate. This place has: No=Ramp access. No=A wheelchair-accessible Entrance. No=A wheelchair-accessible Restroom/Toilet. No=A wheelchair-accessible Seating. Yes=A wheelchair-accessible Parking.
Another unknown historical place in Delhi. Need proper maintenance.
Yet another forgotten historical relic from the Lodhi period. The local community has fancifully christened it as Biran ka Gumad: Brother's Dome. There is just a vestigial grave platform inside this frugal, sturdy and fairly well preserved mausoleum, which sits snugly at the centre of the upmarket South Delhi colony, Green Park.
Do not understand why monuments like, Biran Ka Gumbad is not properly maintained by ASI. This is fate of most of the monuments located nearby. This one also like many others is left to one security guard. Biran Ka Gumbad is located primarily near Evergreen Restaurant and it is adjacent to Agrasan Park in Green Park. It is built similar to pattern of Dadi-Poti Tombs located nearby.

Another unexplored part of the Sanjay van Forest. Can get v nice views from here, especially at dawn during sunrise. Sunset would be good too, but after that it gets really dark and would not be safe finding one's way back out of the park.
