Good place to learn about the history of Chamba district and the tribe living there. Must visit
A nicely curated museum. Entrance fee is Rs.50 looks expensive in India as normally the entrance tickets are Rs.10 for government museums.
The artifacts are from Chamba area but well presented. History buffs would not regret going here. Others may skip if they feel the ticket is expensive
Bhuri Singh museum. This is a veritable store, house of the exquisite paintings of the famous Kangra and Basholi schools, as well as mass epigraphical material on the history of Chamba. The museum also has in it, wood carvings, ancient manuscripts and murals from Rang Mahal. A must visit place if u r in Chamba or nearby. Definitely worth it. Cooperate and polite staff.
Great place with huge collection of artefacts and pictures, letters and a collection of coins too.
After Shikhara styled temples...this is most famous place to visit...especially for history geek...hundreds of charters wall paintings...a lot of intriguing things...and you are allowed to take camera...thats good thing about it...
IF WE TALK ABOUT HISTORIANS OR WRITERS OR THOSE WHO REPRESENT CHAMBA, WHEN THEY HAVE TO WRITE OR SPEAK MUCH ABOUT CHAMBA PAINTING THEN WITHOUT MENTIONING THE NAME OF THE TRADITIONAL ARTIST DESCENDANTS, THEY CANNOT SPEAK OR WRITE MUCH. BUT THE STRANGE THING IS THAT WHEN THEY TALK ABOUT THE LIVING ARTISTS OF THE PRESENT TIME, EVERYONE MENTIONS THE NAME OF A NEW ARTIST WHOSE WORK IS NEITHER TRADITIONAL NOR BETTER THAN THAT OF ARTISTS FROM TRADITIONAL FAMILIES OF CHAMBA.
