Who am I to review nature created by God! All I will write about is this - Barsey is a natural trail you can hike to witness a grand beauty of rhododendron blossoms in the spring season. It's a paradise when you visit during the flowering season. It's not a difficult hike and anyone with reasonable fitness should be able to walk up and down the trail. It's a cold place therefore carry warm clothes and snacks to fuel you during the walk. Once you reach the summit, there is a home stay run by the locals. The washrooms could have been maintained well. Water should be provided in the washrooms. You have a breathtaking view from location. Also, support the locals by buying their local produce. I don't endorse drinking but I shall mention rhododendron wine that is much talked about! If you enjoy nature, you surely will draw in the refreshing energy that Barsey offers you abundantly!

Rare Himalayan species of Red Panda and Black Bear can be found at Barsey Rhododendron Sanctuary. Varsey, a tiny valley on the Singalila Range in West Sikkim, is surrounded by a variety of colourful Rhododendron trees that are in different forms and colours, located in the farthest corner of West Sikkim and at an altitude of 10,500 ft. It is a gift from nature. Rhododendron | Information on the Main Species, Definition, and... Rhododendron, which means "red tree," alludes to the red blooms and woody growth of some species. However, rhododendrons can be either evergreen or deciduous, and can develop to be either low-growing ground plants or large trees depending on their habit. Some species, like prostrate rhododendron, are mat-like dwarfs that grow to only 10 cm (4 inches) in height.

Awesome place to visit in west Sikkim.we visited in mid of April 2023. U can also see the Kanchenjunga but for that you have to walk 4 kms. Good for the nature and flower lover. And don't miss the drink made of the flower, that tastes awesome.

My experience at Barsey Rhododendron Sanctuary in Sikkim was nothing short of magical. From the moment I arrived, I was awestruck by the stunning natural beauty of this incredible sanctuary. As I walked through the lush greenery and rolling hills of the sanctuary, I was surrounded by a riot of color and fragrance from the breathtaking rhododendron flowers. Everywhere I looked, I saw vibrant hues of pink, red, and purple, creating a feast for the eyes that left me spellbound. But it wasn't just the stunning flowers that made my experience at Barsey Rhododendron Sanctuary so memorable. I was also lucky enough to catch a glimpse of some of the incredible wildlife that calls this sanctuary home, including Himalayan black bears and red pandas. As I explored the sanctuary further, I also discovered hidden waterfalls, babbling brooks, and serene glades that provided the perfect spot for a peaceful picnic or a moment of quiet reflection. Overall, my experience at Barsey Rhododendron Sanctuary was one of the highlights of my travels in Sikkim. I would highly recommend this magical sanctuary to anyone looking to experience the beauty and wonder of nature in all its glory.

It's a very big and wonderful forest. It's famous for birds and Rhododendron. Four colors of Rhododendron are available here, red, white, pink, yellow. And the best time to see Rhododendron is in April. Birds are available all the time but you can see them in the morning and afternoon time. From entry point to track 4km upside for a viewpoint and homestay and a small monastery is there. The tracking road is full of adventures. Thick heavy forest and very cold and fog. Also in the entry point there have an restaurant, u can take drink, Maggie and can take drink and local wine also.

Nestled amidst Sikkim's verdant embrace, Barsey Rhododendron Sanctuary is a haven for nature enthusiasts. I visited this floral wonderland last year, and its beauty remains etched in my memory. Over 50 rhododendron species paint the landscape in a symphony of colors, from delicate pastels to fiery reds, creating a breathtaking spectacle. Encounters with vibrant birds, elusive mammals, and majestic butterflies added to the enchantment. Barsey Rhododendron Sanctuary is a testament to nature's artistry, a serene escape into its embrace.

Heavenly place to trek through the dense forest in the midst of chirping of spectacular birds, chilling wind and sweet fragrance of rhododendron flowers. If you are lucky, you may see a glimpse of Red Panda.
