Baoli, RKPuram - Historical landmark in New Delhi - New Delhi, India

This is a nice place rather i can say park for adults and childrens. Place is well maintained by ASI with grass and fencing. No tickets are required to enter here. Best time to visit is evening in summers and day in winter.

Hidden cluster of Tombs and a Baoli, The Wazirpur complex consists of several monuments from the Lodi era (AD 1451-1526). It consists of five tombs amd a stepwell facing them... However, the identity of its occupants is still a mystery.

A hidden gem of Delhi! The peculiar thing about the stepwells is that they are elusive, hidden, obscure. Like you, many folks are surprised when they know that there exists a stepwell where they reside or frequent like Agrasen Ki Baoli in Connaught Place. You have been frequenting RK Puram area from a long time and especially Sector 5 for South Indian food at Tamil Sangam, but hardly did you ever know that there was a stepwell nearby. Yes, the hidden stepwell at Wazirpur Tomb complex sits in a garden between government flats. The simple structure with two turrets near the well are unique to this stepwell. The premises is less frequented, but remains neat and clean. You get to spot feathery fellows at the site. These tombs and the stepwell are said to be Lodhi era structures built in 15th/16th Century.

I found this tomb suddenly when visiting the Wazirpur tomb and was not aware of it. The baoli is gorgeous and well-built and is found on the right side after the main entrance and walking up to the steps for the tomb. I could go right up to the last step down the baoli and some rada-roda was found but there was no water. Accessibility Features: Yes=Ramp access. Yes=A wheelchair-accessible Entrance. Hidden gem in R K Puram area. This is a stepwell which looks grand but needs to be maintained well.

Historical place - one of the monument. You can come here for walking, kids can play here in fully cover with nature around. Bycycle is not allowed you can park your vehicle's outside infront of the gate. Secondly it's known for Worship, Peer Baba Maharaj.

Nice place Baolis or step wells have always played an important part in the medieval cities of India by ensuring water supply to the population. Delhi has its fair share of these baolis scattered all over the city. In fact, there are so many that we often end up stumbling upon completely unheard of ones strewn across town. The lesser known RK Puram Sector 5 Baoli is one such example. It's located near an equally unknown cluster of Lodhi era tombs and is accompanied by a wall mosque too.
