Ballavpur Wildlife Sanctuary & Deer Park - Wildlife park in Bolpur - Birbhum, India

Probably one of the best deer parks in India. This is well maintained. The entry fee is a bit high...100 rupees per person. But it's worth it. I am also sharing the photos...you can understand how closely we can see the deer herd. They will fight and do all sorts of stuff. Many will even pose for you. If you're in shantiniketan, definitely go here.

Good place for a quiet outing. Can see some spotted deers and birds. The timings are 9 A. M. to 4 P. M. contrary to the entry in the Map. Entry fee is Rs. 100 per head.

This wildlife sanctuary is located in Bolpur Santiniketan. It has an average elevation of 56 metres (184 ft). With an area of 200 hectares, Ballavpur Wildlife Sanctuary located on the fringes of the University town of Bolpur. Just a kilometer from the Viswa Bharati University area, this lush Wildlife Sanctuary is home to three large water bodies (Jheel) which hosts migratory as well as resident birds in plenty. Now the species number is too low. Need more care. Need more development. Just a business. Nothing to see , no maintenance. But they are taking 100/- per head. Soo ridiculous

If anybody want to visit a calm, peaceful place, this will be recommended as the same. In spite of having small area it enhances the calm characteristics of Bolour-Shantiniketan. You can find lots of deer running and playing around you. Couple of hours can be spent with your loved ones. The entry ticket only of Rs. 20/- for 2 hrs duration.

Great for lungs with trees all around. Best time to visit is early morning. Fresh air is the only thing why anyone would want to visit this place paying 50/-. With such a large swath of land at its disposal the management could learn a thing or two about landscaping, wildlife management and eco-tourism. Zoo management is much more than ill maintained metal barriers. It's a shame that such a place is being allowed to be wasted. As for the deer, there is definitely a herd present behind enclosures but that's all that can be said about them.

You will hardly find any animal here...as this is not a zoo , it's an wildlife sanctuary so you have to wait patiently and quietly. If you are a student please bring your id with you . And also it's a walking distance from University (Siksha-bhaban)

A green patch reserved between Bolpur and Prantik ,housing lot of spotted dears .The area is not very huge and one can easily spot a dear amidst nature. Quite a long stretch of walk so not recommended for aged /sick people .

Nearer to Biswa Bharati University. Green vegetation. Deer Park, Migratory and local birds. jackels were also found. Nearest tourist destination is NIC(Nature Interpretation Centre), the is a fossil park and a museum are there. Approx. 2 kms. to reach 'Khoai', one in a week(Saturday) local people is arranging fair, handicrafts are sold there and many singers('Baul') perform beautiful songs.
