Bada Darwaza is another Gateway to Old fort, Other ones are Humayun & Talaqi Darwaza. After renovation, the Badha Darwaza looks very good. Entire area is good for photography. Entrance fee is nominal and no charges for still photography. One can spend 2 hrs, keep enough food and water specially, if children are with you. Please go through the history before visit to really understand the importance of the place. Sound and light show is being arranged daily after sunset displaying history of Indraprastha through New Delhi. Do visit.
This is one of the entrance gate for the old fort and situated next to the Delhi Zoo. One can buy tickets to visit the fort which has a huge area and is having very old structures. Also there is a boating option available near it for which one doesn't need to go inside fort or buy fort tickets as there is separate ticket for boating which can be bought at the boating place. It's good for one time visit.
This beautiful and strong fort, situated next to Zoological Garden, is rich in history and is a good specimen of architecture and culture of times of Mughal ruler Humayun and Sher Shah Sur. Humanyun started building this fort and lost it to Sher Shah who added to its splendor and defence This was recaptured by Humayun who in turn died here from a fall from the stairs of Sher Mandal. It is better to start seeing this fort by walking to the front of Talaqi Darwaza which one can reach by the side of the lake outside the fort. Inside the fort, the Bada Darwaza, Qila-i-Kuhna Masjid, in terms of its architecture and extensive use of marble, both black and white and sandstone, Sher Mandal, Hamaam or Royal Bath, archeological excavations of artifacts going back to Mahabharat times, Humayun Darwaza, Baoli or Stepwell and inside of Talaaqi Darwaza are main attractions. In the evenings, a brilliant light and sound show, Ishq-i-Dilli is held on the lawns of the fort. While going out of the fort, across the road, one can see Khair-ul-Masjid and Lal Darwaza, the contemporary structures. All in all, a beautiful fort to visit with lots of history and architecture.
One of 3 gates of old fort. Main entrance where from you can get tickets also. Magnificent structure
Excellent example of Mughal Architecture. One of the oldest monument of Mughal times. Colours are still intact on some stones , shows the high quality colours used in those times. Upper left portion is shattered. Great place to visit for those interested in Art & Architecture and Indian History.
This entrance gate to Purana Qila is very impressive! It's the best structure you can see here.
BADA DARWAZA This western entrance to the fortress was most probably built under Humayun, as it is part of the main fortifications. It is a triple storeyed structure, 20 meters high, on either side of it are bastions which, along with the curtain wall beyond, have arrow / gun slits. Kanguras (merlons) would originally have run along the top of the entire length of the wall, but have now completely disappeared except at the top of one of the bastions. The surface ornamentation of the gate consists of inlay patterns in sandstone and marble, some stone carving and tile work. Jharokhas (cantilevered, enclosed openings) and chhatris (pavilions) also serve a decorative purpose.
The flag is very very tall and can be seen from far away. There's a huge park around it and lots of places to sit and chill if you want to. You could walk around the whole park. It's tight above outside Rajiv Chowk metro station on the yellow line. T

It is near to the qutub minar..Well maintained tomb and everything is kept cleaned... The tomb of Iltutmish, Qutub Minar Complex, was built in 1235 A.D. It is situated just outside the north-west corner of the Quwwat-ul-Islam near the Qutub Minar. T
Another unexplored part of the Sanjay van Forest. Can get v nice views from here, especially at dawn during sunrise. Sunset would be good too, but after that it gets really dark and would not be safe finding one's way back out of the park.
