Decent hotel in Thiruvannamalai. Slightly away from the madness of the town, it was in a peaceful location. The hotel ambiance is quite good and well maintained. The room was average and could be better. We had to get our sheets changed when we checked in as we noticed some stains. They only had buffet lunch and dinner when we were there which was a bummer. However, the reception staff was really helpful. They helped us plan our temple visits, arranged autos and even let us extend our check out with a nominal fee. So overall our experience was good here.

Rooms: Decent space but struggled during night times due to AC related issues. Need improvement on maintenance, towels (rough n old), bathroom cleanliness Service: Very generous staff and supportive. Breakfast Location: Nice view but outside of the city. Need to spend lot on auto charges. Charged RS.350 from temple to hotel at 10PM

It's a nice hotel to stay for a couple of days in Thiruvannamalai. Rooms are clean and spacious. The restaurant serves buffets for all meals.

My stay at Athena Hotel was fraught with issues that fell short of expectations. The 'grand suite' I booked for 7500 INR per night was a letdown. The name promised luxury, yet the reality was a smelly bathroom that soured the experience. When I requested a room change, the hotel's response was to reduce our accommodation from two rooms to one, which was hardly acceptable. Moreover, the customer service was extremely disappointing; my attempts to communicate with the reception were met with no response. It's regrettable that Athena Hotel's grand suite and customer service were not as grand as their pricing.

Food was good but service was pathetic. Many customers walked away due to slow service. When asked they had the regular excuses. There were not many customers but they took 2.5 hours to serve the food. One person used to take order and some other person used to serve so they got confused who has ordered what and lot of mix up

Has decent amenities though we haven't used any. Ample open car park Arranged for pick and drop by auto to temple. TV had issues with tata sky which was never resolved. No ceiling fans. Need to improve service esp during night time as it's a popular pilgrimage.

Decent place to stay. We booked 5 rooms and stayed one night..homely food.... friendly staff..value for money...

This hotel is NOT worth the hype or the cost. At best it is a 2 star facility. Hotel Operations is mediocre at best. The premium room I booked costs INR 5,844 for extra bed which is super costly for that location. When I entered it had many house flies and spiders. Ended up chasing house flies instead of resting!!! The room had dust everywhere, the walls had holes, the locks would not fit correctly. It's very disappointing experience. Even though the check-in time is 12 noon, the room was NOT ready even at 2:30 pm. The front desk person kept on lying (he refused to share manager's name or number, kept on repeating room will be ready in few mins, etc.); Finally after 20 minutes a supervisor apologized and offered an alternative room until my upper floor-mountain view-bigger room was ready. The restaurant food was the only exception. It was good.
