Ashapuri Local Museum, Ashapuri - Museum in Ashapuri - Raisen, India

Well maintained site by ASI and many historical statues are here of 10th century and many ruined temple also situated here

Recently excavated group of 26 closely situated temples at a beautiful location. Most of the place is in ruins with beautiful sculptures scattered everywhere. Some of the idols have been taken to nearby village in an open air museum.

The architecture and structure in the museum are approx thousand year old. Maintenance of this museum is not upto the mark. Otherwise this place takes you to near the Indian heritage. Most of the statues were destroyed during the Mughal Era.

A small museum containing sculptures from the excavation in nearby Ashapuri Temple Complex. Some of the sculptures are huge and beautiful but many of them are not in good condition. They also need to clean up the whole place and add some information boards and add labels. The statues seem to be a mix of Hindu and Jain mythology. I think the place will get better when more people start visiting from Bhojpur or Bhimbetka.

It is a museum of lost deities of demi gods. They belong to King Bhoj era.

Perfect to visit this monument which is a laboratory of temples for kings between 9th to 11th centuries. The place is having strong 26 temples in ruins. A local museum is also there with exhibits of the ruins.
