5500 yes old temple where Azhwar meditated under a Tamarind tree which still maintained and worshiped by the people. This trees never closes its leaves in night time and the tamarind never rises completely , that is the fruit of this tree cannot be used. It's was such a great feel to vist this temple . We didn't know about this temple before. As we crossed the town, we visited the temple. Wow, once we entered the temple, I felt such a divine feeling. Very wonderful temple. I heard the story of Nammazhvar in the holy tree there. We get goosebumps there. Everyone should never miss this Azhvarthirunagari temple.

Government needs to maintain such good temples ...some temples need painting n cleaning badly.. we are lucky to have such temples. Needs to be preserved..
