Lepakshi temple is an ancient site located in Andhra Pradesh. The temple is build in 16th century and dedicated to virbhadra (lord shiva). There is a very large Nandi (bull), mount of Shiva, about 200 metres away from the temple which is carved from a single block of stone.
Only a few places to visit at Lepakshi and this temple is the main attraction of it all. The atmosphere is so serene and morning is the best time to visit. Hanging pillar in the temple is a sight not to miss. The whole temple is carved out of stone and is truly a living Marvel.

The place is almost 100 kms away from Bangalore and rakes around 2 hours to reach this place. We started around 2 pm from Bangalore, so that we reach here early evening can enjoy a nice sunset before heading back again.
There is no entry fees for the temple. But you need to keep your footwear outside, so better keep it in your vehicle since the parking is just next to the temple.
The place if full of ancient stories which is depicted using the stone carving all across the temple. The main temple gets closed by 6pm for the visitors, hence plan accordingly.
There are multiple food and tea stalls just outside the temple, so you have plenty of options to choose from.
The temple is very huge from inside and lot of walking is required from starting till the end. Hence, manage accordingly.
There is a single pillar which looks like it's standing without any support from ground and it's marvellous.
