We are gone there at the raining time and it was one of the best experience to see the sculpture of this temple and it takes too much time to watch entire sculpture.
In this temple there is 2 god's that is lord Shiva & lord Vishnu which means Hari-Hara. Hari means Vishnu & Hara means Shiva, this is the speciality of this temple. And this is the only place having both half Shiva & half Vishnu.
There is a lot of history about this temple....

Nestled in Harihar, Karnataka, the Harihareshwara Temple, built around 1223-1224 CE by Polalva and later adorned by Soma in 1268 CE, is more than just a shrine; it's a legacy. The abode of Harihara, the divine fusion of Vishnu and Shiva, is an embodiment of spiritual harmony. The image, seamlessly merging Shiva's right attributes with Vishnu's left, encapsulates the divine union.
The temple's sacred aura not only echoes with centuries-old stories but also resonates with the aspirations of devotees, believed to be fulfilled by the temple's divine energy. As a fellow resident of this land, the temple isn't merely a monument; it's an intrinsic part of our shared cultural heritage, where history, faith, and devotion intertwine seamlessly.

A temple with rich heritage starting from Kadambhas, Hoysalas and Chalukyas. Eye catchy, mesmerizing architecture leaves you in awe. A must visit place, as the priest says "This is a Toll free Temple on a Toll free Road" - No ticket for darshan.
The only unfortunate thing is itz under Govt Control and needs some serious maintenance
Very ancient temple. We can see God Harihara , a fusion of the right vertical half of Shiva and left vertical half of Vishnu. The image holds in its right hand, the attributes of Shiva and in the left hand, those of Vishnu. It is situated on the banks of Bhadra river. Very vast area. There is a sri lakshmi idol also inside the temple. On the whole this place is very powerful and devine.
