It is around 70 km from Hyderabad. Nice place for comfortable tracking. There is a temple also before tracking point. Parking is available near tracking point.
Others almost covered the details of the place. I am contributing a timelapse video of the forest behind the temple. The video features part of the path into the woods, however it's about 10km, in full, to go around for enthusiasts. The forest department charges a nominal fee for entry (forgot the exact charge, it's either Rs10 or Rs20 per person). If you are planning, carry sufficient water, mosquito repellent, sunglasses and a hat (depending on the season). A good shoe will be an advantage (with proper grip for monsoon). I recommend it for children and healthy people.
I visited it in connection with the temple dedicated to Sri Anantha Padmanabha Swamy. Situated in beautiful surroundings. Everywhere greenery. Plenty of trees and bushes. Good amenities in the temple premises. From Secunderabad Jubilee Bus stand it is about 90 km away.
It's good
Nice place for trek type experience with family. Ananthagiri Hills is located 10 km from Vikarabad, Ranga Reddy district, Telangana, India. The hills are the main water source for Osmansagar and Himayathsagar. It is considered as one of the dense forests in Telangana region. Ananthagiri has a famous temple located in this forested region, which is also the birthplace of Musi River. It is situated at a distance of about 90 km from Hyderabad City and a popular destination for trekking and for those who love adventure. It is also considered one of the earliest human habitat areas in South India. Ancient caves, medieval fort like structures and ancient temple shows the history of the area
Beautiful hills to spend a day walking around in nature away from the city. Just drive there, walk around, breathe the nature in, and drive right back. The only restaurant there was crowded, with no social distancing whatsoever. All washrooms nearby were hideous.
This place is very good and had a sense of great enjoyment. The weather is key factor while visiting this place. If it's raining day I suggest not to visit this place because there are no proper shelters available. If it is a cloudy day you will really enjoy this tourist attraction. The surroundings looks like a forest and people who really interested in adventures loves this location. On weekends the place is fully crowded. There are places near to this point such as Anantha Padmanabha Swamy temple and so on. Thw weekend or holiday can be spent in this place.
We went to the Padmanabha swamy temple located at the Anantagiri hills. The temple is very ancient and is very auspicious. We reached there on a sunday evening about 4 PM and darshan was very easy within 15 minutes we completed darshan and rachana pooja. The temple has prasad counter with laddu and tamarind rice available for Rs. 6/-. The temple have good parking place and pay-and-use near toilets. If someone want to stay there are very affordable rooms available. After the temple visit one can go to the woods and enjoy the scenic beauty of Anantagiri Hills.
