This lake seems to be ignored from quite long time and very poorly maintained. At multiple places the tracks are broken, Sewage water flowing inside the lake, many people avoid coming to this lake.It seems the lake has not been cleaned for so many months. The area is quite large, but with proper maintenance it can be quite good for daily morning walkers...
Amrutahalli lake is in a deplorable state. There seems to have been some work done to rejuvenate the lake and we can still see the wetland area created for filtration. But nothing seems to be working and raw sewage is fully in the lake. The lake is covered fully in water hyacinth and is a sorry sight. Some construction is ongoing to put an outdoor gym and some other facilities but what the lake needs is a cleanup and also ensuring that raw sewage doesn't enter the lake.
The lake is home to many kingfishers, swamphens, Herons, egrets, many Dragonflies and butterflies.
Hope authorities take note of the pathetic condition of this lake
This was on my "list of lakes to see". So though I hadn't heard many good things about it, I asked to see it.
The bad :
So much dust on one side of the lake, granite and cement.
The stench of human excreta persists through most of the walk around the lake.
There are stray dogs, one of which was ill and drooling.
The lake is just a tiny pond at present.
The good :
The views.
And some people are working to make it better.

You can go down to the lakebed.
A citizens will and hard selfless efforts of surrounding lake enthusiasts, Resident Welfare Association are keeping this lake alive inspite of all odd challenges

Good only for walking, Nothing good here. lake is dried and all sea plants are floating. No drop of water and only sewage flowing.

One beautiful place ideal destination for cycling. Lake is not so well maintained. So it would be great if plp of that place become responsible n try to maintain n protect it . I could find many birds over der so a good place for bird watching too
A beautiful place which is clean and green. Walking path is wide throughout with regular sitting benches. There is play area, washroom, sitting benches with roof and excellent views of the water. You can find ducks and birds too.
Amazing place ,away from the hustle of the busy Bangalore crowd. Fresh Air and amazing natural beauty makes this lake marvelous.
