The place is just so good . A place of history and a lot to know . It is so well maintained , calm . You will just feel like you are somewhere, away from the chaos of the city. And about the cafe inside . It's awesome . Just amazing. It's interiors , ambience, view from the big glass windows, food quality , price ..everything is perfect. The cafe itself is so beautiful. The staff there are very courteous, friendly and their service is too good . Please visit this place .
If you know the history of Indian Freedom Fighters then you are going to love this place. Nicely done and managed so far. The management might have thought about providing some Audio device to visitors (obviously with extra fees), so the visitor can listen about those incidents or events which are portrayed here. The cafeteria has very nice, tasty dishes within pocket friendly prices. Ample parking available.
The historic Alipore Jail has been turned into a state-of-the-art Museum worth visiting. Memorabilia, statues, the art gallery, the projections, AV shows, the evening Light and Sound show are all extraordinary and presents history authentically. To stand within the same walls where our Freedom Fighters were imprisoned, revolted, and were even hanged gives an eerie feeling that history books cannot provide. This is a must visit destination for anyone wanting to experience the Indian freedom struggle first hand.
I had an incredible visit to the Alipore Independence Museum with my grandfather this past week. This was his first time to the newly transformed jail into museum. This place is a treasure trove of historical artifacts and information about India's struggle for independence. The well-curated exhibits beautifully depict the sacrifices and determination of our freedom fighters. The museum provides a vivid glimpse into the past and offers a rich learning experience for visitors of all ages. The knowledgeable staff added to the experience with their insightful explanations. It was an amazing experience, learning about our history, freedom movement and our freedom fighters. Everyone should visit here at least once. It's also a good place to visit and learn about jails and how they function.
We visited this place before a week. Such a amazing placeit was! Totally neat and clean. You call play those audios by only scanning the QR code.Ticket only Rs.30.. For light and sound you have to pay Rs.120. Its a ideal place for school going students.

A small but well maintained museum exhibiting items related to the police and policing in Calcutta (now called Kolkata). Their firearms gallery is very interesting as is the gallery on the epaulettes, letter and exhibits related to crime and solving
Nice place for weekend visit. We went there couple of weeks ago. Art gallery was well decorated. Wall was decorated by old movies and theater poster. Inside the hall u can see different kind of antique decor items like type writting machine etc.
