Located at the bottom of Aguada Fort, Fort Aguada Jail is famous for its panoramic view, architecture, and historic significance. It was once the largest jail in the state used to imprison legal offenders. but since 2015, it has been open to the public as a heritage site. A part of the jail is also reserved as a museum with galleries, activity zones, amenity zones, and information center.
Review is about the Jail complex and I haven't visited the port. If you're a historic lover I highly recommend to vist the Jail fort. It has a enormous collections of Goa history with the help of art/paintings and with digitally as well. We can hear the historic story of each buildings/jail cells by scanning a QR code left oustide the entrance of each. Ir may take upto 2 hours max if you visit/listen for each buildings. The place was very neat and tidy. Entry ticket costed Rupee 200 each and it is worth. No Air Conditioner, available only on selected areas. + it has restaurant inside and it has a great ambience.
Amazing places and would recommend it - do not go to the fort . The port and jail complex has great rooms showing the history and insights into Goan life. Very cool place
Admission now 400 rupees for international tourist and is definitely worth a visit spent 2 to 3 hours here and learnt some goan history
This is ancestral place in north goa. entry ticket 25 rs. per head and parking 50 rs for 2 wheeler. great fort beside the beach. nice location with history of goa. A great place for photography as well.
Aguasa Jail complex the timings are 10AM to 9PM but ticket counter closes at 8. Ticket charges - Goans -100, other states -200 , Other nationals -400. Guide per person 500.
Just one view here is magnificent. Except that view there was nothing much to see. There are historical things to see but no description to get a good understanding.. The museum and jail also didn't get a hold of me. Overall it is a place to go if you have explored all other options.
Not recommended place(due to high entry fees). As of now August 2023 Entry Fees Rs200/Person without guide, with guide Rs500/Person+Rs50 for two wheeler parking and Rs100 for 4 wheeler parking. Audio scanner guide don't work properly due to network issue. Small area but entry charge is very high. I saw people returing due to high entry fees. Saw the first time that Chicken burger is being sold by Namste chai above Shiva temple.
