Zippy Lube Coffee, Donuts, and Fried Chicken - Chicken restaurant in Madison - 2013 N Sherman Ave, USA

Cute concept! Coffee and donuts -- fried chicken later in the day. I was there early in the morning so I had a breakfast sandwich in a fresh cinnamon sugar donut. Glazed chocolate donut was good. The atmosphere is the garage "lube" motif.

What a wonderful addition to the neighborhood! I have loved everything I've tried from zippy lube, especially the breakfast sandwiches. Their espresso drinks are delicious and consistent. They have oat milk in several syrups available in addition to regular cow milk. They have several standard donut flavors as well as rotating seasonal flavors. I love how they transformed the space while keeping design elements from the old garage. Every employee I've interacted with there has been extremely kind as well! I would highly recommend trying out Zippy Lube!

Zippy lube is a fun little restaurant! The staff is super engaged and welcoming, the space is funky and fun, and the food is very good! We had fried chicken, macaroni, mashed potatoes with brown gravy, and coleslaw.… The fried chicken was super crisp and the breading not too thick and well adhered to the chicken! (Who who likes it when the chicken skin pulls off the fried chicken?) I love the coleslaw, fresh and well spiced. The Magtoto’s are creamy, and the gravy was flavorful without being too salty. I prefer a cheddar, macaroni and cheese… But this macaroni and cheese was rich and satisfying. In that quote. this may not be good for me, but I am really enjoying it A lot” kind of way. The whole place is sort of nostalgic on the inside and the outside. converted from an old service station with all the funkiness you might expect. I love it. Also, had a donut… Their buttercream frosting is really good… Creamy and not too sweet. The donuts themselves are rich with a density similar to pound cake… Delicious. Parking is easy access off of Sherman way is easy. Everything is easy here you should go. Try it!

I’ve ordered the chicken sandwich from this place several times now and each time it’s been loaded with pickles and enough sauce. Been A+ each time. Definitely recommend extra pickles, they are amazing. Tried their cauliflower sandwich today. Love that they don’t charge extra for a vegetarian option - the sandwich had great flavor and a good crunch. My wife leans towards vegetarian and I can’t wait for her to try it, she’s going to love it.

Nice place. Decent amount of parking. Easy to get to. A few seats inside. Wasnt very busy when I went at 11.15am on a Wednesday. Hot chicken sandwich and coleslaw were great. Donuts were fine. Didn't get any of the warm ones which amy have been better. Will come back for sure

They now have a fried cauliflower sandwich or wings as vegetarian options. I tried the hot cauliflower sandwich- it was delicious🙏🏻 It comes with pickles and sauce, and looks much like a chicken sandwich from the outside.

I love the idea of coffee late at night. Food was good. Mac and cheese tastes just like kfc. Gravy compliments the mash potatoes well. The zippy sause is great for cauliflower bites. 10/5 quick bite

My favorite way to treat myself! I'm convinced this is the best place to eat fried chicken with a doughnut. While that meal will never scream healthy, their food tastes homemade and their ingredients seem high quality. The result is an amazingly self indulgent meal that leaves you feeling full of good food rather than regret. I did score the atmosphere lower, but I'm not entirely sure that's fair. It's thematic and the theme makes it fun and memorable, but it's not the place I'd park myself to read a book. I don't fault them for that but I also feel like a 5/5 review doesn't speak to people on the fence about trying something new.
