Zion Wright Family Ranch - Campground in Virgin - Smith Mesa, USA

These guys are amazing. Wife and I did horseback riding and couldn't be happier with our experience. The gentleman that were setting everything up were very chill and easy to talk to, and our guide Calvin was amazing. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and picked up everyone's name right off the bat. He asking questions about us and what we did for a living. As someone who has never rode a horse before... I'm so glad we pick them and rode .... The views were amazing, the tour was amazing and would got back in second.... Highly highly recommended!

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! You will never experience something more unique and wonderful. Especially the horse ride. Thank you!!! The view of stars at night were indescribable.Mr. Wright and his wife were a DELIGHT!!! Kindest family!!!!

What a place to be - we couldn’t believe we had this place pretty much for ourselves (even though you could definitely have the same feeling if there are other groups there as its a huge place). The property is a slice of paradise and Bill proudly takes care of it all, with the help of his three beautiful puppies. We had a bit of an unexpected event with our rental van: the coolant was boiling and we were worried we would end up stuck there. We messaged Bill and once he was back to his place he came over to check on us (with a bottle of coolant that he never let us pay for). What a legend! We heard about his stories, saw some videos of his world champion cowboy son and played with his puppies. Thanks so much for it all, Bill! :)

Absolutely majestic! We tent camped for 4 days with our 7 year old. The sites are exactly as described - off-grid, so be prepared. Clean porta-potties and convenient fire rings. Lots of privacy and solitude. Was windy at times! Definitely needed sturdy tent stakes. Book the horseback trail ride if you can for an unforgettable view of Utah. It was our daughter's favorite part. Thank you Wright Family for sharing your land with us! We will not forget our trip.

The campground was nice and we had a good night. But the next morning we went on a horseback ride with Bill. The ride started fine but by the end Bill was rude and aggressive. We told him it was our first time riding a horse but by the end he shouted a few times that we just need to follow a few simple instructions. When we told him the horses weren’t doing what we wanted them to he would just say “yes he is” and yell at us for doing it wrong. Never any advice on what we should do or how we can improve, just a callback to the 30 second rundown before we started the ride. Maybe I was doing something wrong, but shouting “it’s simple” doesn’t help and his attitude made it truly unpleasant experience. Beautiful view, bad customer service.

Beautiful location, wish I'd stayed longer. Absolutely made my vacation. 10/10 recommend the trail ride. Words can't describe it. Really great trail guide too, thank you Slade! Can't wait to come back

Amazing location to enjoy some primitive camping! Endless site options w fire pits, port a potty’s were clean and a nice luxury for those of us used to real primitive (aka diggin a hole!) camping 😂 The views were unbeatable. Visited from St. George for a weekend getaway. Love to see historical ranches like these open their gates to visitors. Such a special place. Will be back and hopefully do the horse riding!

Not sure why this place doesn't have 5 stars, people need to read the description before coming. This is a hidden gem in a high touristy place. I loved being able to pick out my campsite upon arrival. I had no one around me and the views were beyond my wildest dreams. This is legit camping- be grateful they even provide a portopot. I drove a 2WD rental car and had no issues on the road. Loved and would come back over and over. Thank you for sharing your property with strangers. Oh- horseback ride was peaceful and legit and provided even better views of the land. Smoke was a real gentleman.
