Had dinner there on Saturday. Very pleasant atmosphere. The wait staff is attentive. Food was good and the pecan manhattan amazing!!!
Let me preface this review by saying to anyone reading - the food and location are excellent! I've visited on slow days for lunch over the Summer, and you'll scarcely find a better meal in the area! I would still recommend Zini's wholeheartedly. However, my experience yesterday evening was a bit disappointing by comparison, and may help readers here with considerations to set realistic expectations about best times and nights to visit. My wife and I visited with her family (5 people total) for dinner on Saturday night. It was her birthday weekend, so we made a reservation somewhere that we were confident I had the great food I described above. However, after our 6:15 p.m. seating and order shortly thereafter, we waited over an hour for the food. And that wouldn't be as huge an issue, but after finishing our water and the bottle of wine we ordered during that time, we received very little server attention, and no updates about the status of our meal until I asked around 7:30 p.m, and it arrived shortly thereafter. While there were a few issues with respect to plating requests, the food was great, as expected, and dessert was prompt. It seemed clear that the staff was unexpectedly busy with a full house of guests, but it was still disappointing that there was little proactive communication about the status of our food, or the check-ins that one might expect for a ~$70/pp dinner. I'll definitely be stopping by in the future, but with a bit more proactivity & specificity on my part to plan for timing accordingly. I hope to update this review positively after that!
Very good fresh homemade food portion size was decent. I had chicken saltimbocca and my parents had chicken marsala. The atmosphere was very quaint.
Let's admit, not the most creative menu or the most elegantly prepared dishes, at least when compared with the best of the best in Litchfield County. Nonetheless, there's the undeniably cozy atmosphere of the place and the undeniably pleasant service. And, most significantly, the undeniable fact that, dollar for dollar, this place is well worth the visit. I've been there several times over the past few years and no dish has disappointed. Give it a try.
We sat at the bar and had a great service with a smile. Other people coming in were greeted by name. We had the lobster ravioli - delicate and creamy - plenty of lobster and wonderful. The chicken Marsala was expertly flavored and wasn’t overwhelming. The chicken was tender and the pasta cooked perfectly. Would recommend and will go back!!!
The food was disappointing. Little flavor in the tomato and saltimbucca sauces. The artichokes were flavorful but 2 of the 6 were tough. The calamari were well cooked but did not have the requested cherry peppers with them. The wait staff was attentive and pleasant. The room was un-comfortably cold.
This is the 3rd time we have been there in the last several months. It was a Saturday night. Ran out of Pepsi/coke ran out of veal. it took almost an hour and a half to get our dinner our waitress never came to tell us what was going on she sent a young man over all he said was there was a problem in the kitchen and he apologized. No one offered us a free dessert or anything. we ordered one dessert for a table of 5 do u think they could have taken it off the bill as a way to say sorry? Nope. never again mainly bc of the way it was handled
Went for Valentine's Day. They were awesome. Great service and unbelievable food. Can't wait to go back!
Stopped today for lunch as I was riding my motorcycle through town, I ordered a chicken parm grinder and Sat in the outside dining area, it was a beautiful afternoon needles to say it was a great atmosphere. Linda my server was very friendly and acco
