Zen Asian Bistro and Sushi - Japanese restaurant in McAllen - 4129 W Expy 83 #20, USA

I've been here 3 times and every time the service is amazing and the food is worth it! Their nigiris are amazing! Everything we come here it is all we get. I also love their crab puffs and dumplings, they are not too oily and the sauces they come with are great too. About $25/per but you get your money's worth. Probably one of my favorite restaurants in the valley to be honest.

Delicious food, the price was higher than what the ad on the radio said but it was WORTH IT. The quality of all the dishes was excellent, everything pipping hot and fresh. The food is made WHEN YOU ORDER so everything is FRESH. I can't begin to describe the takoyaki, I ate like 3 times. The staff is inviting and come by frequently to check if you need to order anything else. Will definitely come back again. (Restrooms are awesome, hot water in the sink)

Friends told us about this place and we were not disappointed! Very friendly and helpful personnel. A lot of choices if you love fish and sushi. All the food is freshly made, so you may have to wait sometimes.

So we had been hearing the non stop commercials on the radio about this place, but it is a little out of our way so it took a while to get us to try it out, by the way the commercial really worked for our 8 year old son, his constant nagging to try it out really got us to make the effort. They had a wait time when we went of about 30 minutes due to short on staff, however the food did not disappoint. I got the sexy roll, we tried the octopus balls, my husband got a plate with a ton of chicken, and my son got a California roll. It was worth the wait. Everything was delicious, the sizes are big, and we are now for sure going to make the trip to this place again in the future.

SunDate, 2nd time to Zen for their buffet. Small, fresh, made to order portions both cooked and raw. Sunday buffet is all day.

This was the 2nd time I came to this restaurant. Today was a little different, busy like any other weekend but when we ordered our food it took 45 minutes to get to our table. Our waitress was not really up to date with our needs but i understand she had other tables to attend. The food is great because it’s made fresh. I really love their sushi.

The food, staff, atmosphere and value are superb! Heard about it on the radio and decided to take my 2 daughters as they love sushi. They had the sushi buffet and they raved at how good it was. We’ve been back twice. The servings are generous. The staff made sure our drinks were always filled and it was cozy but friendly. I had the orange chicken and the portion size was excellent and chicken well seasoned and tender. My daughters have said this is our spot for excellent sushi and relaxation while enjoying the meal. Give this place a try. We have not been disappointed!
