We loved our beautifully renovated room in the group of lovely old homes that make up the hotel. It was bigger than the photos online indicated with a lovely lounge area separate from the bed area. Staff were delightful. Excellent continental breakfast served in the gorgeous parlour area - with good gluten free and healthy options. It was good to hear that the hotel tries to be sustainable eg using glass straws in the lovely bar. It would be great if they could replace the small milk containers at breakfast with milk jugs, have mugs rather than disposable cups in rooms and consider replacing soap bars with a handwash dispenser. Highly recommend a stay in this gorgeous boutique hotel when you’re in Asheville
Everything about our stay was simply exceptional! The attention to detail and top notch customer service we received, even prior to our arrival, really set the tone for our stay. I just knew that this was going to be a unique experience when they were communicating with me even prior to check-in. We were greeted by the friendliest staff and shown to our room (heads up - historic property = no elevator...but you'll get your steps in!). The room was beautiful and immaculately kept! We couldn't sing enough praises regarding their staff....from maintenance, to bartender, and even housekeeping - everyone was so welcoming, attentive, and gracious! The property is beautiful and offers a perfect location with walkability to all things Downtown Asheville has to offer.
This was our first time staying at Zelda Dearest. We fell in love with the pictures of the buildings and rooms online and couldn’t have imagined it being even better in person once we arrived. The staff was incredibly attentive and welcoming. Our room was absolutely beautiful and included details that provided both security and comfort. The close proximity to shopping and restaurants made our excursions so convenient. We were able to spend the optimal amount of time relaxing in the room while also exploring the city.
We are already looking forward to our next visit to Zelda Dearest and anticipate many more trips in the future.
My husband and I had the most fabulous stay at Zelda Dearest for a weekend away in Asheville. This boutique hotel is in a great location and walkable to all of the shops, restaurants and music in downtown Asheville but far enough from the hustle and bustle that you have a good nights sleep. The room is spacious and the beds and pillows are comfortable. Our room had a bathroom which was quite relaxing after a day of hiking in the area. The rooms are situated in 3 separate renovated houses with a nice outdoor space in between and the rooms are stylish modern quirky and very clean and comfortable. There is a continental breakfast every morning with delicious gluten free muffins that we couldn’t eat enough of. Also on hand was ham and cheese and spinach croissants, homemade oats and berries and mini quiche. If you have mobility issues, note there is no elevator so make sure you request a ground floor room. The staff was so nice and helpful and spot on with recommendations on great local waterfall hikes to nearby wine and charcuterie spots with jazz music. We will definitely be back…
Unique and special boutique hotel to celebrate our 41st anniversary! Zelda Dearest is a new hotel right in downtown Asheville so we could walk to everything within minutes. By renovating 3 separate, historic homes and connecting them with accessible, beautifully landscaped hardscape, they have created a lovely oasis in the city. Upon arrival we were escorted to the Redbud Suite by Logan as she explained the historical significance of the name to the woman Zelda Fitzgerald and the history of the location. Our suite was a delightful surprise, decorated in a blend of art deco details and contemporary & comfortable furniture! A complete collection of books about or by Zelda herself, including prints of her artwork! The bed was heavenly, the sheets so soft you didn't want to get out of bed! |The location is perfect to walk to restaurants, shops and all that the Asheville downtown has to offer.
We had a FANTASTIC stay at Zelda Dearest for the weekend. Great location and walkable to everything downtown. The room was spacious and the beds were very comfortable. Our room even had a bathtub which was lovely. The continental breakfast had lots of different options including homemade gluten free muffins… the perfect stay!
Zelda Dearest is a very special and unique hotel. My husband and I stayed 2 nights here and loved it! The meticulous restoration of the 3 buildings is amazing and the room decoration incredible. The room we stayed was beautifully finished and truly had a Gilded Age feel. Front desk staff was helpful, efficient and such a great introduction to Zelda Dearest!
Our stay at Zelda Dearest was nothing short of spectacular. This boutique hotel is replete with all the luxury amenities one could want, yet every detail seems uniquely curated for each guest. Before we even arrived the front desk staff reached out with easy check-in and parking instructions via text, a hotel guide and offered to answer any questions about our stay. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly by a kind and courteous front desk staff person who gave us a lay of the land, escorted us to our room in the exquisite Matilde House. Upon entering the house I was struck by the gorgeous artwork adorning the walls on the staircase up to our room. Entering our room was like stepping into a chapter of Zelda's life, or a mix of the many eras, an art deco, modern, south of France feel with a Key West twist. From details as small as dresser knobs to black white striped tile, every inch added to the enchantment. The bed was cozy with luxury linens and our room featured a lovely deep tub room with palm frond wallpaper along with cozy robes. After walking to a delicious dinner close by at the underrated Rhum Bar and sleeping cozily for the night, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast of decadent pastries, overnight oats, rich coffee and quiche at the Wine and Roses bar and dining area. If you are looking for something unique, atmospheric, intoxicating and romantic, Zelda Dearest is more than a hotel stay, but rather a destination, experience, romance of luxury to behold.
Literally the best hotel I have ever stayed at! The hospitality from the front desk, to house keeping was just amazing. You can tell staff that just go with the flow from staff that genuinely care and love what they do, and this was evident. The room
Amazing hotel! Loved the history of the buildings, how they were integrated into the design of the hotel. Service was impeccable, champagne at check-in, heaters while waiting for valet, complimentary Tesla to take you downtown, and the Lounge has l
