The Zanzibar is a open air terrace restaurant in downtown Austin. The restaurant is in 7th floor of Marriot hotel. We went for lunch to celebrate the New year day. The ambience is beautiful and Calm. And the views from the rooftop are amazing & stunning. The reception guy allotted us table very quickly and the lady waitress came to take order, she helped us to pick our drink selection. We ordered Spice Island and Clean wave with chicken wings & Shrimp skewers. . The food was really delicious. The drinks were affordable. There are heaters throughout the rooftop bar, which kept us warm. Zanzibar’s Happy Hour is a great option which starts from $ 10. It’s a Nice place to chillout with family and friends. Definitely I’ll be back once again. HIGHLY recommended.
This place is one of my favorite places to take friends there when they come visit as it has such a scenery view of downtown. I’m also impressed with the design as it feels like you’re sitting comfortable in a jungle with lots of trees 😂
The food menu is small but they’re good. The drinks are great, very strong.
Walked in for dinner on Saturday night and they immediately sat us (2). I was very surprised as we did not have a reservation. Wonderful ambiance, and great service from our server Lowell!
My favorite drink was the Bird of Paradise and the Dukes Pearl. The Ahi tuna bowl, Spicy tuna hand roll, and jerk chicken were our favorite bites. Would highly recommend checking this spot out - one of my favorite rooftop bars in Austin!
Candy was phenomenal. It’s hard to come by fantastic service these days & she exceeded all expectations. Also, a great photographer! The drinks were delicious. Highly recommend.

LOVE Zanzibar. The service is awesome. The staff is so down to earth and super friendly. We came here after a long day at the pool and had some finger foods and drinks as pictured. The drinks are a little pricey but definitely cute and delicious. The atmosphere is a total vibe and I’d recommend it for a girls day or couples day.
Ordered the Bird of Paradise and it was good! Really enjoyed the vibe and atmosphere that Zanzibar provided. When you come hopefully Candy is your waitress she helped us out and explained the menu perfectly to where I knew exactly what to order! Next time you’re in Austin be sure to stop by you’ll have an amazing time!
