Visited this place during happy hour on Saturday night, had high expectations. Parking sign said it's for tenant of some apartment building nearby, so had to find street parking. Turned out they can validate that parking. The ambiance was cozy. Happy hour menu was not given, had to ask for it. The food was the biggest let down. Chicken wings lacked flavor. Ordered 4 different sushi rolls. Some of them were falling apart, they had too much rice that was overcooked. Also the rolls had very small amount of fish. The service however was great.
We’ve been to Yumi several times since they opened in our neighborhood and have always enjoyed it. This last trip, however, was altogether different. We ordered two Honeymoon sushi rolls (which are priced at nearly $30 per roll) and a few other dishes. There was almost no seafood inside the sushi rolls, the filling was mostly rice, and we were shorted one roll. The wasabi was also tasteless, abnormally thick, and a very dark artificial green color. After contacting the restaurant to explain what happened they never bothered to respond. We spent over $100 for two meals in total and felt very short changed. I’m not sure if we’ll be back.
First, it is very aesthetically pleasing.
Second, our waiter, Chinh, was hands down AMAZING.
Third, the food was very well plated, and everything was high quality with delicious flavors.
P.S. you can request thinner sliced sushi rolls, which I personally prefer
I would hands down recommend to put this on your “restaurants to try” list, and you have to ask for Chinh as he was a breath of fresh air coming from the waitressing industry myself.
First time here and great experience. There was a large party that walked in right before us so service was a bit slow. Our waitress was great by keeping us updated and apologized for the long wait.
Sushi was awesome but rolls were a little more expensive than I was expecting. Highly recommend the honeymoon roll. I also like that they offer to cut the rolls thinner if you prefer smaller pieces.
They also have a small outdoor patio with string lights that’s cute.
The location is hard to find because it's under construction. You can also park in the lot, they will stamp your parking pass. We dine-in on the patio and it's a very chill atmosphere other than the ongoing construction. The drinks are okay. My friends ordered mojitos and the mint leaves were dried and turned brown/blackish. They could have removed those out.
We ordered a plate of sashimi, and usually I love raw fish but this time I couldn't make it. I decided to try the tuna first and it was slimy and very fishy. Yes, it normal because it's fish but we don't think it's was fresh enough. The salmon teriyaki is good. Their rolls and crispy rice appetizer are phenomenal! Definitely would go back and try the rolls and the crispy rice again.
The bill comes to $290 for 5 people with drinks and some leftovers to bring home.
I had a party of 18 and Rachel (the manager) was great with communication and accommodating my big group. Our server Chin was great and treated us well. Food and service was amazing as usual. Thank you again!
Fresh and authentic sushi. 4/5 stars because I actually didn’t like how big the rolls were. When the rolls are too big to enjoy in one bite, it’s difficult to taste and chew the combination of flavors that were so thoughtfully designed by the chefs.
The atmosphere was chic but welcoming and our waitress/bartender, Rachel, was fabulous! I would definitely they come back and try some other items.
Some of the best sushi and sashimi I've had. The black widow special...wow...I would have easily eaten three of those and not been upset. Also the sneak peak at a new menu item was a fun treat. Our server was cheerful, stopped to chat for bit, and was knowledgeable about both the menu items and sake.

Just overall lovely experience. Service was friendly, attentive, informative, engaging from host to server to busser to chef. The menu is small so we probably ordered 50% of it...all were unique, delicious and photo-worthy (as with the cocktails).

This was by far the best Cuban food I have had in the Midwest since I left Miami.
The service was excellent, the vibe was inviting, and the food was outstanding. They have an excellent location on the corner with outdoor and indoor seating.

Very prompt service and delicious food. The picture doesn't include the lemon soup and Kurdish bread with feta. I would highly recommend both. Both the beef and chicken kabobs were moist and flavorful. The rice and beef dumplings were crispy on t
I'd give the food and the overall place a 4.5 star rating, but of course there is no 4.5 star option.
I had the chicken parmesan and it was plenty and cheesy. I couldn't put my finger on it, but it didn't appear that the chicken breast was homemade,
This was was such a delight! I absolutely love the food and how appreciative the chef/cooks were with the ingredients. Waiter Dan was so warm and provided exceptional service. Definitely would come back
Loved the food and the menu! They do a great job a putting a spin on your typical burger. We ordered the âIt Was All A Dreamâ, which was a medium rare steak that was sooo tender𤤠and âThe Debateâ which was a sweet and crispy chicken sandw

What a great place to dine. The menu has a mix of feel good food (meatloaf/potpie) to trendy delicious burgers. We dined both Friday and Saturday and had amazing servers/staff both evenings. My coffee cup was never empty and my belly was full. Do NOT
We had my sonâs 11th birthday party at D1 and Kris and his staff did not disappoint! The kids had such a blast the entire time playing dodgeball, tug of war and football as well as racing each other pushing the sleds. They were all exhausted when
I love core power yoga and the highland park location is one of my favorite. You are always greeted by a friendly face and some of them are really good with names (I noticed this after my first week, a couple of instructors remembered my name which I
Great cafe! Their coffee was delicious and the barista was very friendly and nice. It is a nice place to just sit and chat. I'll definitely come back whenever I'm in the area!
As a person with Italian heritage and a dedicated pizza lover, please understand me when I say this pizza is incredible and some of the best there is!
Whether you like authentic original Italian (paper thin), Chicago deep dish, Detroit style or any
I was honestly terrified to go to my first OTF class, because I was worried being out of shape and surrounded by super fit people would intimidate me, but the staff and coaches at the Grand Ave location are nothing but friendly, helpful, and kind. Th
Have come to really love this gym. It's a smaller facility, but the equipment is wisely selected - plenty of cardio equipment and all the weight equipment you need to do some solid training.
I've been attending off and on since 2010. The instructors are the reason I keep coming back. They're compassion, wisdom and skill shine through with every genuine interaction.
I hope to be able to keep coming into my 60's, 70's and 80's!
Family vibe, everyone is friendly and it didnât take long to figure out the coaches actually care. Coach C and coach Pops try to bring out the best in training and they make it fun for the kids. However itâs up individuals to put in the hard work
They're really like not all these other churches that beg for money and the whole message is just about giving money to the church over and over again.
This church speaks the word and gives you something to ponder for the day and implement. I really
Rafiki treats you as a guest, not just a customer. I was looking for a place to get out on a cold, winter day and get a Sip Scouter stamp. I was pleasantly surprised at how friendly the staff was, including the lovely family that owns the place (Laur
