We loved the ease of entering the hotel and our suite with the code provided! Right away, we were impressed with how immaculate our place was. The decor is stunning! Spacious, bright, all amenities were well thought out, down to the ear plugs next to the sign “in the city, old building”!
Since we were in the city it was noisy at times outside but not enough to dissuade us from staying again. We will definitely return as our daughter lives just blocks away. I’ve already recommended it to others!
Great hotel tucked away on South Street and near all kinds of restaurants and shops. The room was great! Clean, decorated very nicely with artist's work. Communication via text with room service was great. They responded quickly to our needs and were very courteous. My wife and I will definitely be back! This is a hidden gem in Philly!
I and my family were so pleasantly surprised upon walking into the room. I had booked without a lot of research so did not realize that I was getting such a spacious room, felt like a studio apt, it was immaculately clean, the fact that there is no front desk was no issue at all. The remote concierge was very responsive to my inquiries even after 10pm. We were there on a weeknights so noise from South street was not an issue but I can maybe see how it could be. I would definitely stay here again. Don’t let the hotel 2 star rating dissuade you.
I understood as a business traveler, this would be a stark, bare bones lodging. Instead, I was stunned at the high-design quality, and comfortable room. What was really wonderful was the responsiveness of the staff. Had a luke-warm shower and bang they took care of it immediately. Then, we wanted to end the week with being super-tourists at Independence Hall, etc. Even though we had checked out, they allowed us to leave our luggage so we could quickly grab them later for our trip back.||The only criticism we had was that they never told us the hotel was smack-dab in the middle of the one of the most beautiful parts of Philadelphia. (Which they should have stressed in their promotions!) The hotel just made the week.
We had an enjoyable stay at the Yowie Hotel.
Pros:
- Cool boutique hotel with "remote" front desk (all communication with hotel staff by phone or text.
- Very responsive and helpful staff.
- Vibrant, colorful and modern room decor.
- Very comfortable bed.
- Great location in Queen Village within walking distance of historic landmarks (Independence Hall), a farmers' market, many restaurants, the waterfront and other attractions.
Cons:
- South Street (around the corner from the hotel) could be noisy in the evenings.
- Musty smell in our room, which was mild, but noticeable when entering the room.
- It took a very long time to have hot water in the shower.
Staycationed with my husband at Yowie and we loved it! Amazing rooms with great design and thoughtfulness. Very comfy mattress, full kitchen, and everything was SO CLEAN. Love the drawer provided with little samples of often forgotten toiletries in the hallway. I always stop in the store to get some fun treats. Can’t wait for our next visit!
Immaculate vibes, immaculate rooms, and just all around fantastic in general. We'd known about YOWIE: the shop for years through the design circles, and upon learning they'd built out a hotel didn't think twice before booking. It was everything we hoped for and more. For starters, the location is incredibly convenient and in a wonderful little neighborhood, with a sizable parking garage nearby. Wim, the all-day cafe downstairs, was the added treat we didn't even expect (get the roasted carrot ricotta toast!). The "Did You Forget Something?" drawer was a very thoughtful touch that bailed my wife out for makeup wipes. Did I mention how even the elevator smells amazing?
My husband and I spent our anniversary here and had a great experience! The rooms were stunning, filled with lots of wonderful snacks, art books, and decor. They even had a bottle of wine waiting in the room for us, along with a list of custom recommendations of where to shop and eat. The location was so convenient to the shops and restaurants on South Street, a quick car ride to Fishtown, and parking conveniently nearby. We had a chance to grab a tea and shop at the Yowie store downstairs before we left. We'll definitely be back!
A unique hotel with history and a very nice decor to enhance any stay while traveling. We stayed there for a couple days during the New Year's Holiday and had a wonderful experience. Great location in the middle of the city, safe and close to everyth
We booked the deacon for a weekend and as our wedding venue last month and we could not have been happier with our choice.

Joined on a student membership for the summer and really enjoyed my experience. All the trainers were highly knowledgeable (and incredibly athletic) and made sure everyone felt welcome in the gym. When I was dealing with a shoulder injury, they were
Coffee here was amazing! The iced latte was great! The black coffee was something else! So fruity and aromatic - truly a great experience! Very much recommended getting their beans too!
