Yorktown Beach Hotel - Hotel in Yorktown - 508 Water St, USA

Been coming to Yorktown for years but this is the first time I stayed and I wasn't disappointed. Stayed 8/30-9/2 for labor day weekend with my 3 kids who loved it. So let me start with the bad; the air conditioner kept the room mostly comfortable but took a while at night to cool the room enough that I wasn't hot under a sheet. Secondly the carpets could use a good clean as they had quite a few stains. Third is the hostess was polite enough but seemed like it was a little forced. That's my only complaints which definitely is not really much of an issue. The good; rooms were spacious for me and my 3 kids so we weren't tripping over each other when in the room or getting ready for the day. The pool was well maintained and clean and my kids loved swimming and running around the courtyard and the view was amazing as we'd eat our breakfast in the gazebo. Breakfast is basic(muffins, bagels, cereal, fruit etc) so don't expect eggs and bacon but there are plenty of spots to get that if you want it. Best part was how peaceful it was just sitting on the veranda and watching the river in the morning and afternoon. Id give it a solid 9-9.5/10 and look forward to our next stay!

My husband daughter and I just stayed here for 4 days and we have nothing but good stuff to say. We loved the location and view. The lady at the front desk when we checked in was very nice and helpful. Room was comfortable. Dave introduced himself to us, (I believe that was his name) and was so helpful to us the whole stay always checking in and seeing if we needed anything. Will make this our yearly vacation spot!

Beautiful place and beautiful views of the river. A few cute bar/restaurant in walking distance. The rooms are clean. Plenty of parking. They do have free breakfast. It’s simple but it works. Negative. The front desk most of the ladies have an attitudes. The sliding doors don’t have screens on them. An overall nice place and we has a good experience

Honest review. It's an old hotel and it does show. Even the updated rooms look old because the bathrooms are outdated, the ceiling was messed up, and there's light coming through the front door which means bugs can come in and the a/c will leak out. Those are the only negative things I have to say about this place, however you can tell the new owner cares and wants to make it a more inviting place. Other than those minor things we truly enjoyed ourselves and have already booked for next year! The pool was wonderful, although the weekend maintenance guy wouldn't turn on the cold water on Saturday during the week days it was on and refreshing! The beds were comfortable, we both slept peacefully there, I even slept in which is a rarity for me. Staff was very friendly and accommodating, I see reviews that talk about the staffs attitude however I never once experienced anything of the sort. The view was incredible, we were there for the 4th and watched the fireworks from our balcony. There are restaurants, ice cream shop, and even a farmers market that weekend all in walking distance. The rates were a bit inflated for the 4th but understandable, it's a business and they have to pay the bills. All in all we had a wonderful time and can't wait to come back next year! We will be staying on the 5th floor next year though instead of the third. That's where all the fun people stay! 🥳😊

I haven’t been to this motel in 8 years but only because life became challenging when my husband and I had a daughter born way too early. Now that she is doing well, we decided to come back to the area we love most and settle in a room for a few days back at our ole motel. I cannot believe the amount of work that has been put into this place! It’s amazing! While I stayed in an older section/not updated room, everything was still wonderful! The view from our room overlooks the water and is such a cozy, nestled little spot where bringing our belongings in was so easy!! The pool is BEAUTIFUL and is where we spent a lot of time. It’s clean and never overcrowded at once. The addition to the breakfast bar is exciting and we found ourselves nice and full never having to leave the area to eat for there are many lunch and dinner places in walking distance. Ryan, who works up front is absolutely the nicest young man, and the blonde woman(ugh I forget her name) is equally amazing. Both people helped us with something needed and answered any and all questions we may have had. The gentleman who tended the pool, we also saw him fixing things, was pleasant and kind too! Everyone is so nice and accommodating! While here, we ran into TWO sets of our friends from various counties hours away and couldn’t stop talking about what a great place this was. I saw some mention bugs being an issue but I never saw any bugs and everything was clean. However, this is an older place, on the water, and surrounded by greenery, so if you see a bug, I mean geez, you signed up for it. Again, I never saw any. We love everything they have done to begin fixing this place up and while I know renovations can take awhile and come with a hefty price tag, the owners of this place are on top of it through and through! We plan to come back again next summer, but we will stay longer and wish we could’ve this go round. Honestly, I’ll ask for the same room again if it’s available and again, it’s not a renovated one; that’s how much I still loved it! Thank you to all of the staff for making our short trip everything amazing!

What an utter disappointment. We decided to try a different stay as we visit the area often. I have family in Grafton. Booked 3 nights. Arrived late due to a long drive from Florida filled with bad weather. To say the room was a disappointment is an understatement. The bed was so hard it was like laying on a piece of wood. You could literally feel springs in part of it. I even found boogers on the wall of the bathroom with assorted hairs on walls and floor of it. The only thing I can say good about this place was the view of the York River. I decided to do better for my family and book elsewhere for the remaining 2 nights. The front desk clerk was appalled at what I thought about the room and their property and wouldn't even refund me for the 2 nights I wouldn't be staying. I would never give these people my business 💯 They will probably book the room again and make double the profit. Bad business‼️ Neither will my family or I ever spend a dime here again and never a good recommendation. Pic from the balcony. Those aren't my feet 😂

First and foremost, there IS a giant sign out front that clearly says they are renovating. I did NOT get bit by any bugs in the hotel. It was quiet, semi ok view. I did not upgrade. I had teenagers and felt it would be good to put as away from people having a romantic getaway. We ate at a very goood restaurant just down the way. Bed was cozy and comfortable. I suppose the only weird thing… the toilet felt and sounded like it might tip over when you sat down or stood up. I figured it was a good practice for the rollercoasters at Busch gardens. The young man who works there is polite and knowledgeable. The woman.. she helped us out with a parking issue a few hours before check in. I would stay there again!! Maybe next time without the teenager though.

My wife and i stayed here for 4 nights. Wanted something different for our anniversary. The location was great. We had a room facing Water st., what a great view. Matt and his staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable. There was plenty of things to do within walking distance, restaurants, shops Of all kinds. Plenty of history in the area too, just a free trolley ride away. We will be back. Thank you, Linwood and Sheila
