This place is a historical monument to the foundation of the formation of our country, where men of all races and creeds gained independence and formed this nation. Full of rich, well-preserved historical information and artifacts. The interactive driving tour is amazing! Keep up the great work, National Parks Team! Thank you for the memories!

We took the historic driving tour while visiting. This takes you to the major points of interest throughout the park. There are a few spots along the drive where it’s worth getting out and walking around to see and feel the history. It’s not necessary though. The drive alone is nice. It’s a well kept park, with nice wooded walking trails, and scenic views and locations to enjoy.

This place is almost holy ground as far as I'm concerned. You can feel it when you're there. The world was changing, the impossible was about to be accomplished and the future was unsure! My sister lives there and took me when visiting this summer! We took the loop around the entire battlefield. The visitors center was amazing! So much information, artifacts and history in one building. Very impressive! I'd highly recommend this to anyone in Virginia! The whole area is so full of early American History!

The 2nd point of the Colonial Triangle, the nearby colonial village of Yorktown is a mini-Williamsburg, with most being original structures. The day I was there, the ambiance was destroyed, as there was some kind of a local event taking place, and parking was allowed on the site. But still, it is a fascinating place to walk around in. A couple of the shops are open for business.

This one is less kid friendly (outside of the museum). You really have to be able to paint a picture to be able to keep them captivated for the Battlefield/ Battle portion. There is a Yorktown app that can be downloaded and will guide you through Yorktown and the Battlefield, which is incredibly helpful! The museum portion is amazing for kids and is somewhat interactive; it's definitely interesting. There are no bathrooms through the Battlefield, and the full tour is long! Be prepared! (-One thing that helped was buying the colonial hats and guns and letting them get out and pretend they're in battle at the different stop areas!-) We did enjoy it, and we will be back again when the kids study it in school!

Cutbacks to your National Parks has caused proper maintenance to fall behind at Yorktown but still well worth visiting.

So much to do!! So many awesome, knowledgeable staff members! Friendly atmosphere and interactive exhibits! We loved all of it! Indoor museum with a guide, outdoor recreation of Native homes, the Fort and boats, etc. Highly recommended!

Get there by 10am to listen to the walking tour. She was amazing! The theater show was informative. The museum was very good! The road tour was so neat to see how the Yorktown battle played out. We walked where George Washington walked!!!
