Definitely not having a good experience so far. First off, I have lived in South Carolina my whole life. SC address and graduated from a SC High School. My first year they charged me for out of state, and refused to refund me. My parents were vivid. Secondly, they have cost me a lot of money on classes I don’t need to take. I called 3 times, left a message, emailed my advisor and the person she recommended me to, to help me switch my major before my classes started. Nobody got back to me. I couldn’t switch my major until after my classes started. I learn I’m taking a class that I don’t need. This class is high demand. Several assignments a week plus an essay each week. When I asked to drop it since it won’t help my new major, they said I can’t and they will not refund me. They referred me to take it up with my professor, but either way I can’t get refunded. Every time I call up there I am met with someone rude, who doesn’t seem to want to help me. I will say, when I go in person to the career advisors/class schedulers they are so sweet and helpful. Other than that, I’m really disappointed in my experience. Not sure what my next step is going to be regarding this school, I still want my money back from their error on where I live, but I know if I call they will give me an attitude.
York Tech is the most racist school I've ever seen. When I signed up to start classes everyone seemed to be happy about it. But when you enter the halls it is something else. I dropped out of some classes because the teachers themselves said in the classroom that they were unaware of the subject, so a lot of people left the classroom for other teachers to tell them what was going to be with the class. I had never seen anything before. other teachers walk into classrooms with attitudes. I looked for help to explain myself and there is no one. What a school disaster. I have 3 sisters and two cousins who were thinking of going to this school, but it's really not a good idea. This school is useless. Spend your money somewhere that really learns and has teachers who know what they teach.
Very sorry college. I been here a few years and was only doing pre requisite classes the entire time. College is a scam but this place is the worst possible college to go to. Chose Gaston or some other college. I came back for my transcript so I can go to trade school. They handed me a form that was for something else and didn’t tell me right away. Ive been back and forth this hell hole TRHEE TIMES and I STILL don’t have my transcript in hand because of it. The classes are never ending and they just don’t care about where you need to go or what you need in hand.
Where's the small chairs they had in the student lounge in K building?! Why would they take out chairs that were next to the charging outlets. A lot of students, are wanting to have the chairs back, why?!. What are we supposed to do lay criss-cross applesauce on the floor! Having lack of food is also bad here! Just vending machines is unacceptable!
I took a couple of courses within the past two years at York Technical to complete some prerequisites for another degree I obtained from CPCC, and now I am back here for my nursing degree. I have been extremely pleased with the very helpful staff, wonderful teachers, and low cost of school. I honestly think all students should give Technical and Community colleges a closer look - they are much more affordable and the quality of education has been phenomenal.
York Tech was one of the best schools I've ever gone too. As long as you care, the teachers will help you and make your experience so much better. I graduated from York Tech with a high GPA and was able to transfer to my current college NC State. I would still say York Tech is the best place I've gone to receive an education. Once again, as long as you care, the teachers here will help you and make sure you succeed!
I dropped out of York Tech before at a time when I was not ready for college. I didn't think properly when I picked my degree the first time. It took several years for me to mature and be ready for college. I re-enrolled in a new degree field that I am excited about. I think it is important for prospective students to not rush into college because of the pressure and really think it through. Because I came back to school when I was ready, I have completely overhauled my GPA in the process, almost wiping my lackluster grades away. I think for the cost of an education and the potential salaries that can be made from the degrees offered at York Tech, it is by far a better choice than a 4 year university. This is something more often than not that is looked over by young students. You have the potential to make a great life and career by attending York Tech if you make the best of it. I am very excited for my future and how York Tech has helped me grow so far.
Haven't even taken a class here, but..
Hardly accepted any of my 120 credit hours after nearly losing one of my transcripts. There was a long delay in processing credits, and after I went back in for the third time, they had to reevaluate each class individually because admissions made mistakes.
Web pages constantly have errors and deadlinks. Had to deal with a block on registration, then was charged the wrong price for tuition. First number the secretary told me to contact had a full mailbox. Went into York Tech in person and was told the registrar was at a meeting. Was given email address and was told I need more paperwork and an invasion of my privacy after several days wait.
All for one extra class because I've decided to take program elsewhere. I was trying to save just a little bit of money, but if they want to play games, they will not earn any money. Not a good impression.
I started at Burn during the 4 week promo and signed up half way through my trial! I love the welcoming environment, the structured work outs and having a safe place my kids can hang out while I focus on myself! The staff immediately remembered my na
