Had a delicious lunch at YinTang! Ordered a great tasting hotpot with many seafood, meat, vegetable, and noodle ingredients. When you arrive you go through a buffet of ingredients and select what you wish to be cooked for your meal. You then are asked if you want soup, which is spicy level mild, medium, or spicy. The mild spicy was pretty mild and everything tasted delicious and didn’t need to wait to long. Great staff. Was $35 for a 2.5lb ramen. Recommend!

A staple style restaurant in China, but a novel style restaurant here in San Diego, YinTang is a Malatang restaurant, where you get the food you would like from a wide selection of different toppings and noodles from a salad bar style presentation, then the selections you made are weighed where you are charged $13.99 /lb. The food can be prepared either in a soup base or in a dry style in spicy levels of no spice to very hot. The flavors are authentically great and the ingredient quality is fresh all at a pretty reasonable price. If you are not familiar with this style of food, it is very easy to overestimate the amount you can eat. I recommend to reach the minimum 1lb first and definitely don’t go beyond 1.5lbs as that is really a lot of food.

Tried Chinese Hot Pot in Australia and fell in love. Searched around San Diego and so far this is the only place I found that compares. At the time of this posting they were charging 13.99 per pound (fair). I got the original broth with mild spice which was perfect for me. I selected a lobster ball, corn, crab stick, shrimp, beef, lamb, and fresh noodle. I really enjoyed my bowl and my wife liked hers as well. The broth was amazing and the best one I’ve found so far. Will 100% be back at this location. Staff was amazing and so kind in explaining how the restaurant worked. Very attentive and we never once had to ask for a refill. Best customer service I’ve received in a long time.

We visited the Mira Mesa YinTang. Don't visit this restaurant during peak hours. We waited for 30 minutes to get a table and then waited another 40 minutes for our food. Despite claiming to serve Taiwanese cuisine, their spicy hot pot doesn't match the authentic Taiwanese flavor. The soup base and ingredients were fresh, but unfortunately, the vegetables were overcooked. Additionally, the prices are high, with the bowl pictured here costing $41 before tax and tip. What's even worse is that they overcharge the sale tax. San Diego's sales tax is 7.75%, but they charge 8.25%, which is very unreasonable

Amaziiiiin’ Super tasty broth, I had the spicy beef-bone. They don’t overwhelm you with a gazillion choices, but what they do have is super tasty. Buyer beware, don’t overfill your bowl at the get-go, be precise in your pickings. Enjoy!

Always the go to spot for Malatang hot pot. Grab how much you want to eat and pay by the weight per lb. Current price $14 per lb. Get ready to spend about $20-30 per person. Pretty stoked about them expanding to Mira Mesa coming soon.

It’s actually really tasty. Not as tasty as Michelin stars restaurants but this restaurant does have their own advantages. Pros: Clean Rich choices of foods Fresh ingredients Self service sauce bar Good taste Good service Cons: It took some time for our foods to come Not spacious Dish washer soap still on some of the sauce plates :( I’m all a good place for grabbing a quick meal. Will definitely come back.
