We had a great experience as a family at the yellow lantern. This is our 3rd year camping there! The kids enjoyed playing in the pool, riding their bikes and playing on the playground. It was a very quiet and peaceful campground. Thank you for a wonderful time!

The Yellow Lantern Kamp Ground is family friendly, quiet, and my kids feel comfortable there. We have camped there 2 summers now. The kids have enjoyed riding their bikes, playing on the playgrounds and swimming. We enjoyed our time there! Thank you to the owners for making it a wonderful experience!

I stayed for a leisurely eight days at Yellow Lantern Campground. The location is quiet, off the Interstate, on 40 acres outside of Cortland, NY. The campground is a beautiful park environment, mowed, edged, clean. Tall trees are throughout. This is not a dirt and gravel campground. The owners keep it quiet by restricting visitors...only registered guests allowed in, so no drive throughs. Guests are not invited to the pool. There were children and families camping throughout. Everyone was respectful, pleasant company. Sites were grassy with gravel to park on, and relatively flat and level. The main loop road is blacktop, others are graded gravel. My site had 30 amp, but 50 amp is available. Campground water is crystal clear and tastes good, but I still used my filter for city water hookup from habit. My site has sewer. There is a dump site easily accessible from both sides, inside the exit gate. Fee for full hookup was $55.00 per night, with a $50 air conditioner fee, and a $10 refundable electric gate card. There are monthly rates, but not weekly rates. Would I recommend this to my family? Yes. If passing through central NY, I would stay again happily.

We were so thankful to get a site around 5:00 p.m. The very night that we needed it. The campground area is absolutely beautiful. The lady that works in the office was very nice! However, when we got the rules and the regulations, we discovered that number 20 says inform office of all electric heaters and air conditioners as well as additional appliances. There is an additional fee for these services. Failure to report will result in duplicate charges. I have never heard of paying $50 a night for a campsite and not being able to use your air conditioner or your heater. The next morning it was 46°. Why did we spend $50 when we could have boondock somewhere? Just a warning, you are paying $50 just to run your lights! You might as well pull up at Walmart, so you can save your $50.

My wife, son, friend of son, and I went. Wife had to leave after 1 day, so son's friend's Mom drove 5 hours to join us. As per their own site, you can pitch a tent with your camper spot, but you have to ask permission, and if you do, if it is more than 5 days, you need to move the tent so it does not kill the grass. Fair enough. I explained what is going on, and asked for permission to pitch the tent. This was enough to instantly set the 'woman' off. She aggressively said, 'We don't allow tents', contradicting their own site. I went to talk to our friend, and she said she would see if she could pay and just stay with us in the camper. And this innocent request, presented politely, resulted in a full-blown incident. She denied the request, and told our friend that she was not effing staying, and demanded to speak to me again. So I walk back to the office, go up to the desk, she stands there with a expression of arrogant hostility, and pretended she had not asked to see me. "Can I help you (through gritted teeth)?" Me: "Yes, I was told to see you about my friend staying here with us or at least getting a visitor pass." "She is not staying." Me: "I am confused. We registered four people, one left so this would still only be four." She whips out the registration, jabbing it with her crone finger, and states that the 4 people are me, my wife, and the two boys, not 'that woman'. She is literally screaming at this point, and every third or fourth word is a vulgarity. She screams at my friend to 'get the eff off the property, and she is calling the cops." And she does. She throws my friend off the property for having the audacity to ask if she can stay there. And for good measure, she has the cops come and throw me off the property, even though I said exactly zero words that were anything other than calm and polite. We had to break down the camper in the dark and leave. And they refused to refund us. Putting it simply, this woman and her Bela Lugosi-esque eurotrash husband are liars and thieves. ||||So, other than the worse customer service I have ever encountered in any business in my life, the campsite itself is a hot mess. Disregard the 'no tent' lie. Their advertisement also says every site comes with fire pit and table, which it doesn't. Ours didn't, and a quick glance around showed there multiple others that were not equipped. The whole area resembled a swamp. Mosquitos were completely out of control. The shower and bathroom were absolutely disgusting. I would strongly suggest putting your camper in the Walmart parking lot before this s-hole.

I was present when the reviewer from August named Bauer was there. I witnessed the literal verbal abuse that his guest and son’s friend laid upon the owners. If there was a rule, they broke it. The literal necessary eviction we witnessed if this reviewer was necessary. His vulgar insults in his review of this beautiful place we have been for one month are ridiculous. We come here every year, it’s quiet, clean and friend and the owners are accommodating. When you allow your teenagers and your guest to abuse the management, you don’t get to win. .

Pleasant Owners. Very large area with trees. Sites are grassy so uneven, not level. It rained, so muddy. Laundry Room is clean. Large Gift Shop in the Office with limited RV Supplies where we found a replacement piece we needed for our Water tank.

We love the Yellow Lantern Kampground. We camp here every year in August for the Brockway truck show. The owners are always very accommodating to our request to camp in the back field where it’s quiet and peaceful. We aren’t drinkers or partiers so we appreciate the fact that shenanigans aren’t tolerated. My toddler loves the big slide and the swings. We look forward to this quiet campground every year.

The food and nostalgia were great! You walk in, sit down, and use the phone at ypur table to place your order. I had a footlong coney dog, onion rings, and a diet rootbeer. It was so good that I forgot to take a picture!
