Overall food was very good. I got a salad and the “Experience” sandwich. The salad was nothing special. The sandwich, however, was very good. The bread was so crisp and the sandwich was a very creamy chipotle chicken sub. Also pretty cheap for how much sandwich I got.
My only complaint is that I had to wait around 15-20 min for my food. I was expecting a quick experience seeing that it is a sandwich shop, but felt like it was taking too long for what I got. Definitely would recommend ordering ahead if you can.
Yello Sub is consistently great! Their sandwiches are SO good every single time and the service is always friendly. It really doesn't take long to get your food if you walk in and order, but if you order online, it will be ready when you arrive.
Been cranking out great subs since 1979! Awesome menu. Come in. Make your order and they give you a playing card for your order #. Outstanding and friendly service. Wheelchair access and handicap parking is plentiful.
Can't rate service or atmosphere as this was a delivery. They have excellent lettuce and bread subs. Pay for extra? You'll get none. This place used to be amazing and now it is absolutely terrible OR I was one of the customers they used to make up their daily losses (yes, that is a thing) OR my sandwich preparer was so high they didn't even realize they were supposed to put other items on the sandwich other than lettuce. There's more sliced turkey in an elementary school hot lunch. No exaggeration. Sandwich was $18. Good lawd.
I have always loved and supported yellowsub. Lately the sandwiches have been dry and seem to have less toppings etc. When you read the description of the "experience", the last thing you would expect is to gave trouble chewing due to the bread vs contents ratio. Skimpin always hurts more than it helps in the end. Considering its a 14 dollar sandwich thats ashame.
I've been coming to Yello sub through multiple locations (45 years or so). Still great sandwiches. Get the veggie: you'll love it!
Yello Sub has been a Lawrence institution for decades. I'm old enough to remember getting Yello Sub sandwiches when they were located in the back of The Crossing just north of KU campus. Their consistency over the past 40+ years is impressive. A lot of restaurants lose steam after a decade or more, but Yello Sub has continued the great tradition and even expanded to other locations. The most difficult thing about Yello Sub is choosing which sandwich to get. I have a number of favorites, but No. 1 is the Creamy Club. The bread is AMAZING! The restaurant itself isn't fancy, but the food is outstanding.
We are here from out of town and we found yello sub, they have a very unique and home grown refreshing feel!
I gave them a picky and slightly complicated order and they handled it.
Turns out they overcharged me by $2.85 and and a gentleman walked up to me and told me about the mishap and straightened everything out and refunded me the money. So also a very trustworthy establishment!!!
Avery at the front was especially helpful and down right awesome- clean, professional, and full of smiles. Prob would of gave a 3 or 4 outta 5 if it wasnât for Averyâs exceptional customer service and willingness to help.
