Small park, but very peaceful. They have this small gazebo, which has broken glass and tile on the floor and columns. It's a great spot to sit and read or even bring a blanket and have a picnic.
We chose this small park for a family photo shoot and it makes for a great backdrop with a very beautiful old tree with water behind
Beautiful pocket park on the St. Johns River.
The park's official name is Yacht Basin Park but most locals call it Mom's Park.
Yacht Basin Park is located in Riverside on the west bank of Willowbranch Creek, where it enters the St. Johns River.
"The City purchased the property in 1921, and Jacksonville’s oldest social organization, the Florida Yacht Club established in 1877, resided adjacent to the site from 1907 till 1928. Eventually the City’s Water Services Division (taken over by JEA in 1997) placed a pump station at the site, and JEA renovated the park in 2001 with landscaping, lighting, and the construction of a gazebo and a brick-paved plaza and walkway."
In 2002, Jim Overton allocated money from his bond account for the creation of a bronze statue in memory of Mrs. Austin, wife of former State Attorney and Jacksonville Mayor, Ed Austin.
At it's completion in 2003, the bronze sculpture,"Mom’s Statue" was placed outside the Florida Times Union Performing Arts Center. A dedication plaque, which is titled “Mom’s Park”, was installed at the park in February 2004. Most folks have called it Mom's Park ever since.
The plaque contains a poem "On Children" by Kahil Gibran;
And a woman who held a babe against her bosom said, "Speak to us of Children."
And he said:
Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you,
And though they are with you, yet they belong not to you.
You may give them your love but not your thoughts.
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls,
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you.
For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.
You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth.
The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite, and He bends you with His might that His arrows may go swift and far.
Let your bending in the archer's hand be for gladness;
For even as he loves the arrow that flies, so He loves also the bow that is stable.

We decided to visit this beautiful park for mother's day with my kiddos. It has so much beauty in it the more you look around. It has a beautiful oak tree with a bench beneath it. It has a gorgeous gazebo with marbel tile inside of it and up the walls. It's beyond pretty the more u look the more you see honestly. So peaceful and quiet. If youre looking for a quiet place to just sit and zen... This is it!!
Such a cute little park! Has an awesome little mosaic covered area, and has a great view of a stream going into the river. It’s a very small park but very quiet and peaceful. Watch out for the ants, I found a whole bunch right next to one of the trees!
It was really cool. Beautiful views of trees & the water way. Someone hid ducks all over it was super cute.
We had a small wedding here. Beautiful and well maintained park. Not very well known so make sure to keep it a secret;). Great spot for family photos.
Hidden pocket park between St. Johns Ave and the St. Johns River. Named for the wife of former Mayor Ed Austin, this gem of a park has a mosaic gazebo and a huge live oak tree along Willowbranch Canal. A great spot for wedding photos, it is also a great spot for a picnic lunch. No parking nearby, so you will have to find street parking and walk to the park. Which probably helps in making this a lightly visited park.

Great place for Jogging, hiking, bicycling, and casual strolls. This area has a very calming atmosphere and a bit of character.
Good for couples.
I enjoy it best during the late winter and early spring months due to the low humidity cool crisp air,
What a beautiful park! The main road is shaded by beautiful trees as you drive down it. On one side of the parking areas, there are beach accesses, and on the other side is a breathtaking lake. You must pay $5 (cash) per car every time you enter the
I don't already done a review on this but I don't know if it's safe. I love this park and I'll be back for years to come. The dog park is amazing and it has two sections, one for big dogs and one for little dogs. And that's perfect for our little one
Fun nature trail with educational animal footprints and plaques along the way.
An abundance of semi- private picnic tables.
Multiple drinking fountains, one even had a dog bowl.
Grounds are clean, but tons of graffiti!
8/1: Mosquitoes weren't bad but
Amazing off the beaten path park. Excellent place to watch the sunrise and even the sunset. There is awesome fishing here and tons of space to spread out and fish. The water is shallow and clear so you can see lots of aquatic life. Very much natural
Nice pier to fish from. Plenty of parking with portable toilets. Handicap parking available. Nice small beach area to launch kayak. Sidewalk area to take walks or use stroller if you have toddlers or small children. Nice scenic area with a large pond

Patton park is an awesome park. There's not an actual kids play area with slides and swings. Patton park is mostly made up of sports fields. Soccer to be exact. Parking is ample. There are restrooms and sometimes food trucks will park out here and se
This is a pretty quaint park. Not much space but every inch is utilized perfectly. There's a trail, two basketball courts, and the playground. The playground has a ton of great climbing options. The grounds are well maintained. Overall, I was surpris
