XIT Escape Room - Amusement center in Gulf Shores - 3800 Gulf Shores Pkwy #152, USA

Our group (all young adults) had a great time! We had all done multiple escape rooms in the past and this is definitely one of the best. We did the Movie Night and it was excellent! James made it so fun; we would definitely recommend!!

My family and I booked the Movie Night room while on vacation here. We had SO much fun. Sadly, didn't escape, it was challenging! Owner seemed to be really passionate and you could tell he enjoyed his job.

We did the movie night yesterday, and it was so fun! It was my first time doing an escape room and i would gladly go back again. The staff were very nice, the puzzles weren't too overly complex and the music adds to the vibes and enhances your experience. All in all it was a 10/10 experience

I've done a lot of escape rooms. This one had a bunch of x's on everything. (Dont touch) There needs to be just way less stuff in the room. Every clue you use takes 5 minutes off your time. We made it probably 20 minutes and ran out of time. 2:10 don't recommend CSI room.

Me and my friends went here for our first time together as an escape room. And we are a trio of idiots but still managed to almost escaped. The puzzles were really well designed and easy to understand what needs to happen. Even though I am scared of cramped dark places I never felt trapped or like I was in danger. It seems family run and both of them were very nice and passionate about what they do. I love that they even helped my dumb friends understand the puzzle without having to use a hint so I would stop going crazy. I highly recommend and will say this is one of the best affordable escape rooms I have been too. Also thanks for the food recommendation!

Be forewarned that even though it is advertised as "family friendly" it is not. The supposed family friendly rooms have jump scares, bloody mannequins, loud banging on the walls. None of this is mentioned until after paying. We had 2 young girls become too scared after we paid and were told about the scary aspects. We were refused refunds or even credits for other adults to come the next day. I have done 10 or more escape rooms and this is the first time I've had this experience. I would never had signed up my kids for an all ages room if these details were disclosed prior. YES we knew the CSI room involved investigating a crime. NO that is not the same as consenting to gore and jump scares.

The amount of control exerted by the owner of the business is staggering. Controlling on who goes to the restroom, discourages young children to go with parents, phones locked up immediately upon arrival, has walls and walls of styrofoam lining the hall and yells if you graze against it. He also behaves absurdly controlling with the group photos. They last entirely too long and directs like he’s Scorsese. He yells at kids and adults alike for how they stand and where they go. It’s embarrassing to watch. Most importantly, he is NOT honest. He falsely advertises being family friendly. His business is not. It’s gory for children and not PG.

Our family has done many (20+) escape games so we speak from experience. Not a fan of XIT. We arrived a few minutes late due to a wreck. Docked 10 minutes and that’s our fault so not going to complain about that. The staff seemed to work out of fear! I’d hate to meet the boss. From where we stood, when we could use the bathroom, even the order we stood in and where our toes where when they took our pic. The room had red X’s all over most things that we weren’t supposed to touch. Very intimidating. Again, we have done a lot of games. None have been so full of rules that your are worried to actually participate in the game. We thought we had found a new game location as we have done all that BreakOut (Wharf) has to offer currently. Guess we’ll wait for more at Wharf because we will not be returning to XIT.
