Beautiful surroundings with a rich history of West Virginia! Enjoy a nifty gift shop & a free museum downstairs. We cater here often & we see all the behind the scenes. Staff is super kind & helpful. Always a delight to see. Many functions are held here to make our Wonderful State better & more economically sound.
Stopped in to see a featured exhibit . Life through the lens of Bob Bird . Wonderful display .
Checked out archives room. Perused some History of Roane County books. Huge selection of reading mateials & genealogy resources and the staff was exemplary.
This is a wonderful museum filled with information and artifacts that should be heavily explored by West Virginia residents and visitors. The museum is well organized, clean, well managed, and populated by knowledgeable personnel. I highly recommend you make a visit.
What a wonderful museum. Modern, articulate, expansive and PACKED full of artifacts. This is a VERY modern museum. Plenty of interactive exhibits. Widespread use of multi-media. There is something for everyone. The entire experiance is immersive. The displays & exhibits are up close & personal. Protected artificats are easily examined. You can get up close without harming them. The museum touches on every aspect of West Virginia. From history to culture to geography. If you didn't know anything about West Virginia before your visit you will by the end of your visit, for sure. You will learn things you didn't know that you didn't know. Have visited many state museums, this by far is the most exiting!
The museum was awesome. My daughter loves it here. I remember coming here as a child and it was a joy. But the upgrade from the 90’s to now is superb! And it’s all free. Good family activity for all ages. And a lot of history!
We could have spent much more time here. We like museums of all types, but especially historical. The WV museum is among the elite museums. It's worth going out of your way to see it.
The ladies in the Culture Center are absolutely wonderful. They assisted me in finding documentation for my geneological research into my mom's family. Records are great - but without skilled interpreters to locate them, I would have been lost. Thank you in particular Mary and Deb.
Amazing exhibits, museum and gift shop. A huge Blenko exhibit is on display this June worth the time to see it.
