Walked in the Azalea Garden in 5/11/23. It smelled so nice. Although not all the azaleas were in bloom yet, hydrangeas were and others. It was quiet there and saw many birds singing and wind chimes blowing in the nice breeze. I live so close I can go anytime. Love the hawk statue and fountains in front of the building. Very serene here.
I visited during early June. The Azaleas were not in bloom, but the garden was still very pretty. It's a very nice, relaxing stroll through the garden. There was a wedding earlier that we had missed as well as done people who were taking graduation pictures. I like how the various plants and trees have labels on them for identification. There is even a plant that blooms only once before it dies. I would recommend a visit for anyone interested in plants and can appreciate a garden retreat.
The Azaleas are plentiful but we went in June after their bloom. The garden was still beautiful with many other plants in bloom. The hydrangeas are stunning. There were many decorative fountains, bird feeders, & art in among the plants. There were extensive paths to walk down through the garden. There was an incline in most places so walking disabled may struggle here. There were seating areas throughout the garden for taking a rest. We saw and heard many birds within the gardens. I recommend this garden for a quick enjoyable activity. Plenty of parking in a lot and the gardens are open to the public.
On a visit to Raleigh with a suggestion by Heather Leah, Hidden History, I trekked to find WRAL garden and the “century” plant. I had no idea that the station was that close to NC State campus(right in the middle) and that there was a garden that could be used as a nature walk, plant observation even as a wedding venue.
As an officiant of wedding, I didn’t know that for the mere cost of $250, the garden could be used along with chairs and electrical hook up as a quaint space for weddings.
No receptions, but this would be useful for renewing of vows, intimate yet inexpensive place to say I do. I am glad that I was able to stop by and plan to visit more
Beautiful garden. I went last Sunday (8/20), and didn't have many flowers. I want to come back in spring. Worth a visit.
Beautiful garden well landscaped. Unfortunately we went too early and azaleas were not in bloom. Looking at other reviews I can see how pretty it would look in probably a week or two from now. Can see all the buds on the bushes. Small garden but very well laid out. Lots of photographers were there during our visit so it looked like a popular spot of pictures. Plenty of areas to sit down and take pics. We were just passing by so will miss the garden in it's full glory!
This is our favorite park to visit during the spring season in Raleigh. The Azalea Gardens have stunning natural trails that loop you through bushes and flowers and trees all labeled with their genus or species name for learning. You’ll find benches and seating along the paths to stop and take it all in. There’s a parking lot with plenty of parking and an easy walk over to the gardens where you’ll feel like you’ve entered a magical garden canopied in trees and blooming with flowers. These gardens are very dog friendly as well. We love taking our pups for spring pictures!
Such a beautiful place! From the paths lined with blooming flowers to the lovely scent throughout, this is an amazing spot for an afternoon walk. Parking was surprisingly good with plenty of spaces available considering how busy it was when I arrived. I appreciate the clear labels on the plants. Worth checking out if you're in the area.
