We had booked a top floor studio and a 1bed/2bath apartment for 5 days. The staff was wonderful at valet and check-in. The noise was not that bad (as mentioned in other reviews), especially if you turn on the AC fan as background noise. The initial studio was so small we requested a room change and they accommodated us right away. FYI, the hotel has 9 floors but the elevator stops at the 8th with a dozen more steps up a narrow staircase. The 1 bed unit was large and very comfortable. The gym was very small and barely adequate. The location is unbeatable. The concierge team was very interested - if not pushy- on having us attend their presentation even if we let them know we didn’t have time on our Christmas vacation to do that. Overall, a clean, updated hotel with great front desk staff in a very convenient location.

Great accommodation in an excellent location. We stayed in a studio on the 9th floor. It was very quiet and comfortable. The hotel is located close to Chinatown and Little Italy. We walked most places including down to the Bay. Special thanks to Wendy on the Concierge Desk, who was so friendly and helpful.

Check in and room was all nice. Ownership service area only acts friendly, but when it comes to you not being a potential money wallet for them, they push from the most important person in the world to an annoying pest and just tell you to wait without figuring out the best way to save your valuable time. I was there to ask questions in place of share owners and they made me wait an hour then said you come back later when it should’ve taken 5 minutes for this to be done. Lost time to explore the city, I don’t recommend working with insincere people like them.

Would NOT return! We were gifted a stay from a family member and we were excited to stay in such a central location! Unfortunately, the Wyndham SALES PITCH experience was just so awful! We had no idea we would be pressured into sitting through a presentation during our stay. We were not familiar with this hotel chain before and it felt just like a scammy timeshare. Upon arrival, we were immediately greeted by the “concierge” aka SALES PERSON. She was extremely friendly and seemed helpful, but it took a turn. We had just come off a long-haul international flight and just wanted to rest, but we were bombarded with information and what they could offer us. We were initially intrigued by a promised $100 gift card and 7-night free vacation, but felt it was all too good to be true! We were told that if we only sat through a “SHORT” presentation, we would get those free gifts. After initially agreeing to this, the “concierge” cornered us in our room and said in order to access these things, we had to pay a $40 HOLDING fee. That should have been my clue to RUN, but we were so jetlagged we complied. We were also implicitly told that my card wouldn’t be charged, legally in California they can’t charge for this, but low and behold I was charged so they LIED to us. After then also reviewing the little card for our “SHORT” presentation booking, the time slot options were 90 minutes and 120 minutes so that is in no way a SHORT presentation. We decided to opt out entirely as we felt so saddened to be misled and didn’t want anything to do with a company that operates in this way. We got out of the presentation and were refunded the $40 but it was just such an unpleasant experience and we just felt so awkward coming and going from the hotel every time we saw the concierge and staff. Other staff we dealt with were all friendly and I can’t fault their friendliness. I just have issues with being made to feel like all interactions weren’t genuine as there was always a sales pitch undertone. The other issue we had was we were booked into a 1 Bedroom, Top Floor Room with two bathrooms. Upon check-in, we were given a room on the 3rd floor and I initially brought up that this wasn’t the room that we booked and we were excited for a high floor room to get away from the noise and hopefully have a nice view. We were told by the reception staff that his room on the 3rd floor had a lovely view and we would be happy. Upon entering the room, our lovely view was that of a carpark across the street and only had one bathroom. Thankfully reception corrected this issue, but it was frustrating to have to move our luggage from room to room. Lastly, our room was never serviced during our 4-night stay. We weren’t told if there was anything that we needed to do to request service, but most name-brand hotels will service your room during your stay or at least explicitly advise on how you can get your room serviced if it’s not done every day. We were out of our room most mornings by 9 am and even in other hotels, if we missed the first round, they’d check in to see if they could get in later in the day. Only positives for the hotel are the location and good local restaurant recommendations, and also the cleanliness of the room upon arrival, even though our room was never serviced during our stay. All in all a really uncomfortable experience and I will not be staying at any Wyndham properties ever again, I’ll stick to my Hilton Diamond hotel experience!!!

Extremely friendly and informative staff. Nice clean rooms. Fabulous architecture! Soooo close to everything downtown! Only a couple blocks from Chinatown. All transit close by. Gotta walk a little but that's good for you!

We were lucky enough to get a room here for Saturday and Sunday night of outsidelands this past weekend. Guest services were very friendly open check-in and were able to hold our luggage for us while we went to the show. Checking back in that night around midnight, there was a security guard there manning the door, which was very nice to see. Rooms were nice and quiet with super comfortable mattress and bedding. The shower was also very nice with pretty decent shampoo/conditioner available.

Pretty normal downtown WM 1 bedroom. (Didn’t get a photo of that but it was normal full bed with TV, dresser, chair and 2 nightstands) Bathroom was nice and new. A/C in both rooms. Wristband room keys (love this!). 2 closets for storing luggage. Basics in mini kitchen—mini fridge, microwave, silverware, plates, wine opener, and sink. Location was close to decent food, Chinatown, muni stop, trolley was one street over, and Union Station was also quick walk. Sales pitch was the usual pressure but they were informative and helpful even when I declined to buy anything. I heard they have a nicer WM a few blocks away but if that one is full, this one is a good option too. Friendly staff; helpful with recommendations and directions.

Overall I gave it 4 stars. The entire staff I came into contact with were very professional and super friendly. There were two people that I'd like to thank in addition to Michael and Anastasia went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. Michael is a trip and made me laugh . I love that dude. We called him NY because he knew more about the subways and buses than I did, lol. Great crew. On the other hand as far as entertainment they did not have access to order movies and only had outdated DVDs to borrow. Not a major concern but if you're bored and have to stay in it truly stinks. The main problem i had encountered were the laundry rooms. They provide soap and such but when inconsiderate guests use the machine they forget to come down and empty them. Waited very long for those guests as I had no choice. They should have a system in place like a sign in sheet to list room so the staff can call them to come down. Other than that the place was clean and staff anticipated our needs. That went a long way. Will definitely miss Michael. Hope they give him a bonus!
