This is probably one of my favorite places to go hiking, there's plenty of different trails to take. If you like long walks and nature sounds this place is definitely something worth visiting.

We went to entertainment in the park today and had a great time listening to the bazillions. Not driving here before the Google maps was wrong and the sign to the park was small and almost missed the turn. (There should be a sign saying the park is the next right or something so people can find it a lot easier.) Other than that it was very nice we will definitely be back there soon!
It has been about 5 years since I have last been here. Lots of great updates and additions. It is a great trail to visit on a hot day. Most of the trail is in shade with the right amount of sun. Bottom line great trail for biking , walking ,running with good parking and adequate bathrooms. Also see wildlife pretty often here.
As the soft breezes whisper through the vast, lush and nearby untouched forests full of rolling hills, glens and valleys created over time by fauna and waters’ individually paved journeys, one may revel in the majesty of the abundant gifts all around us provided by Mother Nature (Nurture)!
Truly an amazing park for hiking walking jogging biking winter trails for skiing, archery and good ole’ tree huggin’!
Really lovely! We visited in early Sept and stuck to the paved trails: the Prairie Loop and Poplar Loop. I find prairies to be incredibly beautiful and I enjoyed this one a lot. The Poplar Trail was shady and cool (at least on a mild day). We saw lots of dragonflies and damselflies and a few Gray Tree Frogs. There were also a lot of different fungi to observe. These two paved trails were well maintained and they had mowed back from the pavement so I would say you'd not have to worry about ticks on these paths. Mosquitoes were also not a noticeable problem. The grassy paths didn't look overgrown but I would wear long pants and wear tick repellent if I wanted to hike them. There is a small port-a-john. They meant to offer trail maps to use but they were in a container that let them get soaked with a recent rain. The two trails we were on seemed well marked but we did get turned around at one spot and had to backtrack. We would like to explore this park further.
Very scenic trails with plenty of options for those looking for a family walk or hikers looking for a challenge. I spent 3 hours out in the outer loop and on some of the paved trails and I plan to come back soon. A must see in the fall, the trees and grass are gorgeous and the wildlife is very active.
Enjoyed the trails and the choices of going in a different direction at every intersecting trail junction. The trails were beautiful and very well marked and maintained. The signs at every trail intersection let you know where you were and allowed you to make a choice whether to walk a longer or shorter distance based on time or fatigue. We will definitely be back.
Beautiful place, good walking asphalt trails, archery, picnic area, restrooms, playground, dog friendly!
