This place is just AWESOME as soon as you walk up to the main entrance!
The guide (and owner) was truly amazing, passionate, friendly and fun! She had so many cool things to share about this crazy brilliant house full of weird inventions and doors!! ;-)
She is doing a terrific job with the renovation and upkeep of this beautiful house. You can really see that this insane project is a product of love of history and attention to detail !

Amazing place, a relatively unknown hidden gem of local Florida history. The design of the house and the practical inventions within are like nothing else. There are more doors in this house than there are on my whole street! The owner and tour guide runs the place essentially on her own and does a fantastic job! Looking forward to coming back with the boyfriend and enjoying the tour all over again! If you're in the area, definitely make a reservation and spend the time to take the tour (not quite a couple hours)...it's worth it!
Went for the Halloween tour. What a hidden gem in cental Florida. The design of the house and the practical inventions within are very interesting. The owner runs the place on her own and does a fabulous job! I highly recommend taking a tour if you're in the area, definitely make a reservation.
There is so much passion put into the home and hearing the history right from the owner was amazing. Such a wonderful experience and a beautiful home. We will definitely be back for a halloween tour
The Wonder House is well worth a visit: Its design is fascinating, and the work that has been done to restore it and bring its history to the curious is mindboggling. The guides and owners alike are knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about a landmark that you absolutely should go to see. I look forward to returning!
Well worth the price of admission even before we set foot in the home! My husband and I loved this place and found the renovations refreshing, as the owners are reverent to the vision of creator, Conrad Schuck. Likewise, our tour guide, Janet Durden was quirky and fun. My husband and I honeymooned visiting roadside attractions and we consider Wonder House to be among the best! I recommend that you take this tour asap. There's no telling when some government agency will intervene and forbid some interesting element of the tour!
This was a very enjoyable tour! The host actually lives in the home and has excellent knowledge of the history of the place. Not only that, but she has respect and even reverence for the person who came up with the idea and built the place. It is truly a marvel with several interesting inventions that I would love to have in my home! The lazy Susan in the kitchen is remarkable! It is a work in progress and the renovation is not complete but that is part of the charm of the tour is you are able to see layers of what has been done by different owners over the years. If you have the opportunity to purchase a ticket that includes treats and drinks, the tour guide is an expert baker! The old world recipes from her Estonian heritage were truly special!
Run, don’t walk! Book your tour tickets online and go see this for yourself! A special historic and mysterious place you would never expect to see in Bartow (or anywhere). The intricacies of the house are indescribable and so unique. All the tiles and glass are mesmerizing. Janet guided our tour with so much knowledge and enthusiasm! It was a very interactive experience and the 1.5 hours went by so fast. At the end of the tour Janet encouraged everyone to walk around and take pictures outside but most of us wanted to talk more with her. She was such a dynamic storyteller and graciously conceded with us for about an hour after the tour. Go for the history and stay for the tour guide!
