While I would normally rank it a 5 you should know before going that the trail and bridges were destroyed in the recent flooding. Parts of bridges are damaged and covered in debris and due to uprooted trees and tons of sand and rocks I couldnt even see where the trail was. Alot of the corn was flattened by the storm too. Very sad Major work needs to be done it.
I really like this trail. It's scenic, well-maintained, follows a nice stretch of Black Earth Creek, and it's a great place to get out and enjoy the outdoors. I head down there thinking I'll spend an hour or so taking photos, and 3 hours later, I'm getting back to my car.
Wonderful, beautiful, peaceful walk! The only thing i would change is the path more accessible for strollers and that more benches be added along the trip. Many of us really want to talk our elderly parents out or kids even and they need a resting place along the ways every so often. There are spots where there is sand which strollers dig right in and make it impossible to push thru. I highly recomend the trail! My son Jase and daughter Willow always take a bag along with us to pick up the litter. Usually isnt so much which is fantastic!!
A great local nature trail that winds its way along the Black Earth Creek. The trail is 1.8ish miles from one trailhead to the other, with parking available at both ends. The trail is bike and stroller friendly, and can easily accommodate both directions of traffic flow. The trail makes for a great 5k (ish) run with a enough distance for a short warm up and cool down.
Beautiful, serene setting. Didn't use the trail, just the pavilion and bridge, but what a perfect setting for a picnic.
Beautiful sunny 32° day! Perfect hike! I've been here in summer and fall, 1st time in winter. Loved it!
The trail is rather out in the open but it follows the winding creek. Be sure to walk into Mazo for ice cream at Base Camp Cafe. A local favorite.
Great trail for walking or biking along Black Earth creek. A lot of places to stop along the way, including 2 tree swings.

This is a quaint little coffee house right on the square in McKenzie. Parking is a bit of a struggle because you have to park on either side of the street. If you're not a fan of parallel parking, you might be in a bind. Luckily, I didn't have to go
Extremely tidy store that offers up samples of their cheese before you buy them. The samples are quite tasty and since we were going to APT to watch a live performance we bought some mozzarella string cheese and beef jerkey to snack at the performan

There was a buffet with several meat and vegetable options as well as salad and homemade rolls and ð desserts. It was wonderful. The building is an old mill and very quaint with a gift shop with homemade home goods and jellies and jams. Atmosphere
