Liam was great at the Wisp kids ski academy. Our seven and nine year old boys had never been skiing so we signed them up for the ski academy. By 3pm that afternoon, our boys both knew how to ski and progressed from the bunny slopes and completed a green (Possum trail) with us. The next day they tackled more greens and a blue! They also taught the boys how to get on and off the ski lift which was really helpful. The boys had a great day, got report cards and a photo of their adventures they now keep in their rooms. Thanks Liam and the staff for starting a positive, life long hobby.
The Wisp is a wonderful place to bring all your family to enjoy some tubing which must be reserved and paid for before you get here or it will be sold out. That weekend we went was sold out til Monday. It is a very popular place for skiing tubing and other winter like activities. Try the snow mountain coaster.... It's a blast.... You will love it and the best thing is that you control how fast you go. There is only one problem ... If you go on later on the day you will be stuck with no parking. Parking was very hard to get.... Other than that the place was wonderful.
It's tough to rate ski resorts in the Mid-Atlantic, especially with the winters of the last few years. When this mountain is fully open, I'd give it 5 stars for this region. However, we go every January and I haven't seen the mountain fully open in at least 5 years, so knocking it back to 4 stars. It just feels like they can't make enough snow even when temperatures are cold enough to open the mountain quickly. But I'll keep going back, and hoping for better winters!
Didn't live at the hotel, so I cannot speak on that. However, the staff and rentals were great, and the ski trails were nice enough despite us going on a very warm day. The parking lots were booty though. There were wayyyyyy too many large potholes... Put some asphalt or gravel in there or something (or pay for my car)! It was a blast though. we skied all day until it rained big. Yall need some vending machines, so I do not need to wait in line for 20 minutes for a snickers bar. Very happy overall.
Great place to stay and ski! I had some trouble with poorly fitting boots at the top of the hill and Bryan and Matthew, along with the rest of their team, were able to calm me down and get me safely down without issue. We'll be back...with different boots!
We stayed at Wisp in 2022. Rooms are basic, but clean. The whole resort needs updating, but they do have a big indoor pool onsite, which is a big bonus with little kids.
I had the opportunity to take my son skiing before he headed back south. We arrived when Wisp opened and it was relatively empty. Given that the slopes only open two weeks ago And most kids were back in school, this was great. It is our first time skiing in the last five years. For those of you going, I recommend you go onto the website and check out the ski report. It will tell you all of the slopes that are open and all of the lifts that are open. This way you can make a decision as to whether or not, it’s worth the cost. Speaking of cost, we purchased our tickets in advance, saved us some money with an online discount - I recommend you do the same. Givan my recent knee replacement, I sat in the Alpine Eatery, while my son skied. The venue has tons of seating and a view of the mountain in front of you. If you want to watch beginners, this is not the place to sit, as that is further down in front of the yurt. We also had our lunch here, which consisted of a cheeseburger and a fried chicken basket. Plenty of other places to eat like DC bar and restaurant and Wispers Bar. The venue shows the wear and tear of a full year operation, but that is to be expected. I have not stayed in the rooms in several years. Employees in the Alpine Eatery were friendly and helpful. Quite frankly, those were the only employees I had to interact with. Arrival was really easy. Probably since we already owned our own ski and boots we did not have to go through rentals. The kiosk outdoors quickly Scanned our print out and popped out RFID card which was used to get on and off the lift. The great thing is like most ski resorts. You do not have to pull it out. For us the relative 2+ our drive was easy and overall we had an enjoyable day. Given it is In my opinion, the better of the slopes close by, I’ll take what I can get. I am sure it will be better when more slopes open and we get later into the season, but for today, it was perfect.
Never met workers so rude. Worker at the terrain ski area was yelling at everyone for not grabbing the rope right. Then a ski instructor yelled at my friend for “being in the way” and cutting off a kid IN FRONT OF THE CHILDREN when my friend has never skied before and was learning on the bunny hill just like the kids. Been skiing for many years in different states and definitely won’t come back here unless they teach the workers how to talk to humans properly and not yell and cuss at us in front of literal children.
Iâm sure this inn caters more towards couples, however, itâs a great off season find and highly recommended on Trip Advisor. My daughter and I spent two nights here for my birthday. The room was very comfortable with a bonus fireplace and soaking
My 10 year old and I went to the CARC because the home we rented for our week vacation included access to it. We enjoyed it very much. The large jetted area was nice for me, and my son moved around quite a bit and really had a nice time. The locker r

Was able to get a really nice Vera Bradley Robe and some great Goat Milk Body Lotion to add some luxury to my vacation. Great Christmas ornaments all year here.
This is a Gem! And I highly recommend a visit! Food and service were top tier for quality, taste, and timeliness. My salmon was cooked perfectly and the sides and appetizer were delicious. I was there on a weeknight without live music and it was ver
We celebrated our 43rd anniversary at Pine Lodge. The crew there couldn't have made our celebration any greater. Flowers, food, drinks, and service for us and our guests were above expectations. Thanks to Bob, Rhonda, Maddie, and others for a wonde
