Wingate by Wyndham North Little Rock - Hotel in North Little Rock - 4801 W Commercial Dr, USA

I travel all over for work and this was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. The whole lobby area and first floor hallway was under construction. They had a back door blocked open airing out the place, even after dark, making it not seem very safe. Once I got to the room it got much worse. The ceiling and walls in the room were covered with black mold and paint was pulling off the ceiling from obvious water damage, making me wonder if that was the cause for the ongoing renovations. I could hardly breathe from the mold and foul odor. The floor was dirty, and the mattress had a huge brown stain on the side. I went back to the front desk and informed the attendant. She gave no apology and did not even act surprised. Just asked me if I would like a new room. Since I was so tired from traveling all day, I offered to try one on the 3rd floor, thinking if it was water damage from a busted pipe that the top floor might not be affected. I had to take the stairs because the elevator didn't work. There were people hanging out in the stairwell that I had to step over, and when I got to the 3rd floor the whole hallway smelt awful and the room was not much better. There was not any visible mold in that room, but it was still very musty. At this point I was so congested and frustrated, I just left the building and sat in my vehicle while I checked out online and booked a new hotel. The next day I requested a refund and was denied. I provided plenty of pictures of the mold and was still denied a refund. That room was uninhabitable, and this hotel needs to be shut down until the mold is taken care of. I will never stay at any Wyndham properties again since this is how they take care of their properties and cannot even refund a customer after a terrible experience like I had.

Positive: We checked in late and the girl who checked us in was so incredibly kind. Everything in our room, and on the second floor smelled incredibly clean. And the breakfast was actually really good with a lot of options. So much value for what you?re paying. Negative: ""

Positive: Clean comfortable bed with excellent linens. Quiet location. Clean shower with good water pressure. The price was excellent. Negative: In addition to having the most garish hallway carpeting the (thankfully calmer toned mismatched) bedroom carpeting was sticky. The paint jobs around the property look like poor DIY and has lots of chipping. Buildup of dust in corners and door frames.

The hotel has adequate accommodations; however, even when paid in advance when you arrive, they ask you to deposit a $60 fee, which is supposed to be reimbursed at check-out. All I did there was to shower and sleep there. After returning home and checking my card account, they kept the $60 deposit. If they do not reimburse the money, I will never stay there again nor will I book with Tripadvisor.

Rundown old hotel; nice people who were super helpful, free hot breakfast and pool.|Lots of carpets and they mostly all smell bad. Especially in our room. We had to move to a less smelly room; it still smelled, but not as badly. ||Had a room over the outdoor pool area, the noise from which which kept us awake until midnight. ||Elevator and all amenities work though, and it appears to be in a safe area, has a free hot breakfast (sausage, eggs, waffles), elevator & pool. If you don’t mind the rundown appearance and smell, it can definitely save some cash.

Positive: Loved the fitness room & breakfast options. Kids enjoyed the pool. Beds were comfortable. Negative: Room had not been properly cleaned. There was no coffee pot and coffee was not readily available in the lobby.

A great hotel conveniently located to everything - shopping, restaurants etc. All hotel staff were friendly and totally customer focused. The room was spacious, clean and the bed was super comfortable. Best of all the shower water pressure was tremendous, perfect to soothe sore muscles and leave you refreshed.

When we first got to the room, there were no towels in the room. The bedspread had many long dark hairs on them. Very noticeable. The bedding seemed clean but very stained. There was no shampoo in the bathroom. At about 1am. We heard water running in the bathroom. When I checked, water was pouring out of the ceiling. I went to the front desk. They gave me some towels, but no one came to check. The water completely covered the floor the next morning. We could not use the bathroom all night or in the morning. We had to use the loby bathroom, and I couldn't shower. They charged me full price, which I find completely unprofessional. The floor at breakfast was so sticky that we had to wash the bottoms of our shoes. Big mistake staying here.
