Walking distance to the Falls, both Canadian and US. The concierge was so knowledgeable and tickets were reasonable. Will definitely be coming here again. The breakfast was not great, but it was edible a lot out of a lot of things. The service at the breakfast bar was not good. But the servicedesk was exceptionally professional and courteous. Phones did not work.

1.hotel clerk had a melt down and disappeared in the middle of paying. 2.Entered the dingy room with coffee stains running the wall. Hair in the bathroom sink.3.hotel was literally over run by foreigners in a bad way. 4.We tried to go for the breakfast and couldn’t even get close.4. Pool Was so over packed standing room only.5. Hotel was close enough to walk to everything but that’s not saying a lot because so was every hotel in the area.286.00 a night you’d expect a little more. We actually left after the first night and had paid for 2 nights. Just our opinion. Maybe others loved it.

The main reason I chose this hotel over others is because it's the only one that had a free breakfast and a microwave. And I'll admit, I was dreading this place after seeing some of the reviews, and I'm not negating those, but my experience was very different! Maybe it's because we were staying so long, we were given one of the nicer rooms. Rooms are soundproof, though you can still hear people in the hallway! I've also never been given so many towels. There were a few minor issues though. The last guests' trash wasn't taken out, and we had some issues with the toilet and sink. Also, be careful with the refrigerator, because it freezes your food and drinks. House keeping is on request only. I love that they have a bag storage area, so you don't have to carry your bags around while you wait until you can check in or your taxi arrives. You can request a late checkout for an additional $25, but if you don't wanna hangout in town or at the airport, but it only gets you two extra hours, so not worth it in my opinion. Breakfast is too crowded and there is no privacy at all! Only went once! One safety issue, there is a sign in the elevator that says, "In case of fire, take the stairs", yet there are so signs anywhere indicating where the stairs are. If there was a fire, we wouldn't even know how to get out. This definitely needs to be fixed. The location of the stairs is the first thing that guests should know. Location wise, it's right on the edge of where the sketchy neighborhood starts, but just don't go across the street from where the entrance is, and you'll be fine. Everything going towards the falls is fine and not sketchy at all. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance from the falls, tourist district and is right across from the city's oldest buildings, and the free sight-seeing shuttle stops just a couple blocks away. My one complaint about the location though is the lack of a grocery store and variety. Almost all the restaurants in the vicinity are INDIAN restaurants! It's like they don't have any other people living or visiting here. At least the hotel itself has a small store where you can buy drinks and snacks. There's also vending machines, but some of them don't work, and they're so expensive. $4 for a bottle of water and they only take card or $1 bills, which is really annoying if you don't have change or want to buy multiple items. This hotel seems to have a good opinion around town and I personally had a good experience, but based on some of the other reviews, staying here might be a bit of a gamble. The main reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5, is because of the lack of a grocery store in the area, as well as the area having almost only Indian restaurants.

I was disappointed... My husband and I checked in at Wingate and were given a room key for room 209. At first, it looked like our key wasn't working. We asked an attendant for help and when she tried to open the door we saw a safety latch was on it and heard other guests still inside. The system supposedly showed that room as vacant. We were re-assigned to room 309. After getting into our new room, I checked it for cleanliness as I always do and was met with pee still on/in the toilet, food crumbs in the drawers, clock unplugged, spots on the bathroom mirror, a stain in the bedsheets, handprints/ headprints on the windows, a half dozen hairs on the bathroom floor from previous guest, and soap scum still in bathtub/shower. The attendant offered to have a touch up cleaning done for us but my husband didn't want anyone in our room. We didn't have a view of the falls from our room. No offer to reassign us. The air conditioning unit sounded like an old wall phone was accidentally left off the hook. The only redeeming quality was the walking distance to the NF park. We had a beautiful walk with lots of cute animals along the way. It was about a 1.5 mile walk to get to a decent view of the falls.

Perfect location to walk, right down the road from the casino. The overall hotel looks decent. You always see people clean, but it doesn’t feel clean at all. The smell of curry lingers all over the place, including outside. Lots of kids in the pool area. The fitness room needs a major renovation, the treadmill is going to hurt somebody. Breakfast was okay, just no where to sit and eat. Overall unless you can get a room for less than $110 here it’s not worth it.

Beware, hidden fees!! We booked the room for 5 people. When we arrived there were only 2 beds. I was told there is a charge for a rollaway cot. When I questioned the charge of the cot I was told the room can sleep up to 5 but there is a fee to use the cot. I was also charged to park my vehicle on their property. Both of these fees were not disclosed at the time of the booking. The people who greeted us were very friendly. The hotel itself is very run down and in need of repair. The surrounding area is a dump. We did not feel very safe staying there. I suggest looking further outside the Niagara area for something a bit nicer and safer. We won’t be staying here or anywhere in the area again.

I should’ve listened to other reviews before booking this hotel, then I thought it’s just for a day so won’t make much difference. First of all the positive things, located nearby to the falls and room size was pretty good. The negatives, room was very dirty. There were food particles left on the bed sheet and hairs on the pillows. I called up the room service and they changed it still not impressive considering a 3 star hotel. There were hairs in the bathroom and the bathtub was old and was patched up. Room TV was not working but didn’t bothered to call the front desk. We could hear noise from other rooms. Regarding the breakfast, limited options and limited seating space. There’s a parking charge too. Should have considered other hotels nearby rather than this one.

Location is not that bad, close to goat island. Room service is EVERY 3 DAYS. They will not do your bedsheets or pillows or that until 3 days after. Same breakfast every single day. If you need anything, you have to ask the front desk: soap, towels, toilet paper. Floor was dirty when we entered. Had another friend in a different room tell me his bathroom flooded, and when he spoke to the front, they gave him a bucket and a mop and the family had to clean it themselves. Bedsheets were kind dirty too. I don’t know if they actually cleaned or just re-did them from the previous guests. Our own bathroom toilet had a leak in the back. TV don’t really work, channels are weird. We had 2 different ones with two different remote but you had to use both remotes to open one TV. You can also hear the sounds from other rooms and people walking the hallways super loudly. Gym is small, about 3 machines, and they break down after 10 minutes like the treadmill. Had a lot of dust and hairballs on the floor. Also charged me twice for 2 separate payments, then had to wait the following day to speak with the manager. Also, room card deactivated on its own so we had to get a new one, but just super inconvenience. Overall poorly run hotel, won’t ever be booking again.
