Wingate by Wyndham Long Island City - Hotel in Astoria - 38-70 12th St, USA

The hotel is beautiful in itself. What made it exceptional was the front desk staff, especially Amy! Everytime we came back they were so friendly to us and our sweet blind rescue Bella! They greeted us always like family. |The hotel itself is on a 'not so wonderful' street but after a short while we felt safe and had a great time!!! So close to the F train and NYC, I will always look to stay here in the future!!! |Thank you Staff for making my stay so welcoming after a long trip from Florida!! We will miss seeing you each day🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼

Hotel - services and room - was nice and spacious. Interiors felt new/renovated.||However, parking is a bit of a pain. Extremely limited spots on the hotel premise itself. Costs 30$/night. Street parking is available but neighborhood streets seem quite dicey/concerning to park.||One good thing is that, at nights, police officers patrol the surroundings to keep you feel safe. ||That said, better to venture out while there is daylight in the neighborhood.

To start with PROS, i would like to say that all the reception staff, breakfast boy staff and the manager of the hotel were absolutely friendly and so kind to everyone where they could easily help you in whatever you needed! Staff-wise, cleaning etc, everything was amazing & very very good! Now, moving on to CONS… First of all, LOCATION!!!!! The hotel on Maps seems to be in a very nice location close to NYC by train with very easy access. BUT! The horrible thing of all is the exact location of the hotel covered by thousands of Spanish language (don’t know exactly from where they are!!!) in governmental Shelters where every single evening, there was full music, the road outside was a playground, loud voices at 12-1am. (No fights or something - but just all this inconvenient evening where you could feel unsafe to go out in the evening!) Second of all and last, the breakfast was exactly the same thing rotating every single day! Same frozen stuff, iced bread. Just the basics! Scrambled eggs, sausages, coffee etc…

Very clean rooms and great staff. Location is a mix. It’s close to two subway stops to both the US Open//Flushing and Manhattan, but the actual neighborhood is OK, but nothing of interest close by. Overall it’s hard to beat all things considered.

Great hotel. Wonderful guest service. Jose was superb! Friendly courteous and welcoming! ||Room and hotel was extremely clean !||Parking is limited, but manageable ||Beautiful view of manhattan! Quick drive to anywhere you want to be! Bodega around the corner has good food!

Decent hotel but in an unsafe neighborhood. Hotel did not take any security measures to make us feel safe. Homeless people were walking in to use the bathroom in the lobby and anyone can use the elevators since no key is required. We were expecting a nice neighborhood we could explore but it was the complete opposite. When we arrived there were three people being arrested right across the street. We ordered delivery every night because we were afraid to leave the room. Pictures of this hotel are very deceiving. Pay a little extra and stay anywhere else!

Enjoyed my stay. Staff were excellent. Jose was pleasant and great at customer service. My room service staff was great too. Will definitely recommend this hotel and stay again in the future. Glad l didn’t go by the previous reviews. They underrated the hotel.Close to Manhattan which l loved. Had a great time!!

Nice hotel from the first view. Nice location (at least on the map), spacious rooms, good brand. With all the said the actual experience was pretty different. While the room was spacious and nice it had major noise isolation issues. Basically there was none. I could hear just about everything happening in and around the building. Another thing was the AC… it was basically a running tractor 🚜 in the room. It was very enjoyable when it’s off and quite annoying when it’s on. When it’s 95 degrees outside… kind of makes the choice really hard. Staff was great and helpful.
