Wingate by Wyndham Lake George - Featured Reviews (534)
We stayed for one night. It was good clean no issues. It’s a short drive to main part where all shops and restaurants. There is a mini golf across the street. Breakfast area is small though so it was very crowded. They have pool and gym didn’t use the facilities. It’s two floor and no elevator. But overall all was good.
A group of us stayed here from Sat July 20th, 2024-Monday afternoon July 22nd. We were to stay until Aug 2nd. The outside of this place is in better shape than the rooms. The rooms were damp and musty smelling, mold, dead bugs and dirty. One tv was not working and Wi-Fi slow or none at all. Mattress was like sleeping on a thin pad with plastic sheet. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I use Wyndham hotels a lot for stays and am very disappointed in the quality of this one. I also left a couple of things there and went back to get them but was told by the front desk that nothing was found which I know is untrue since that was the only other place they had been. Being truthful is also not their strong suit. If you decide to stay here I wish you the best of luck.
I was surprised to see all the negative reviews on this page, though the local media has reported that this property used to be awful and has greatly improved in recent times. My stay was favorable. It was clean, well-kept and modern, though nothing fancy. There was a pool and a basketball court. There was a camp of teenagers staying as well as a ton of utility workers from a recent storm and my room was dead quiet. There were two people manning the breakfast station, which few hotels do but was welcome given how busy it was. I probably won't stay here again myself because I'm local (I lost power at my place) but I'd certainly recommend it to others. Good hotel for the price, especially in a tourist place like Lake George.
I attempted to stay at this location between Aug 8th 2024 through the 11th. This was a last minute booking as everything in the Lake George area was completely booked. To begin upon arrival, the staff was non existent they require you to call a number to fetch staff to the front desk. Although, the Check-In process was relatively straight forward that's where the issues begin. The first room they placed us in was completely unhabitable with a horrible smell, stained couch, dirty bathroom stained carpets and bed. We once again had to fetch the receptionist via the phone method. He unapologetically assigned us another room did not care what's so ever of the concerns raised about the first room. The second room was just as bad as the second room with the same horrible smell and stained bed sheets. We attempted to check out that night but the hotel refused as we had used a third party to book. After repeated attempts to reach a manager we finally where able to reach one on the last day. The initial conversation was at first amicable however, the manager became rude and condescending. He asserted that the hotel assumes no responsibility for the condition of the rooms and he was unsure if he could return the money spent on a room that remained unoccupied and checked out of since the 11th. I had asked the manager for no assurances but a name and a written statement of our conversation with the attempted refund of the stay. The manager then refused and stated he did not have to give me his name and that his name was "GM". The individual who identified himself as "GM" became irate and walked away mid conversation asserting he had no reason to give me his name and he was no allowed to. MJ Paraar aka GM definitely made the situation worse and unmanageable. This place is by far one of the worst hotels in the area and should be avoided.
Terrible experience. There was no phone network in the room. The lady at the reception was unhelpful when I requested to change the room to 2FL as I was staying for 3 nights and had to receive some important calls. The lady said that all the rooms were fully booked and cannot help, which was clearly not true as their website shows rooms being available. Safe was not functioning. Pillows were dirty and full of stains, and bedsheets didn’t seem to be cleaned as it has hair left by previous guest. ||Breakfast has limited option with all carbs and no protein. I wouldn’t stay in this hotel next time and wouldn’t recommend to anyone either.
I booked based on the Wyndham name that I trust, as I was doing further research and saw some awful reviews, I sent an email and just advised that since I am coming with kids, I wanted to double check A. they indeed had an in and outdoor pool and that breakfast was actual food, not an apple and bagel in a brown bag as I had read. The email response was that I was providing inaccurate statements and hadn't even been there therefor they were cancelling my reservation, yup, less than a week to my vacation, they canceled it! Called corporate who said it is individually owned but they can share feedback. DONE!
We were a walk in reservation we asked to book three nights. We last one night, when we went to plug in CPAP we found the outlet not attached to the wall and black on it where it had obviously been on fire at some point. The drop ceiling the bathroom was coming down and clearly had been that way for a while. It was not clean. We brought the outlet and conditions to the front desk the next morning and request a refund for the other two nights because of the fire hazard, they refused, tried offering another room. Fire could have started up again and we didn’t want to stay another night. They refused a refund.
Hotel rooms on main level don't have good shades for blocking out light from parking lot at night.
Rooms were not straightened up for over a two night stay.
Included breakfast and coffee is terrible.
A good bare bones hotel if you don't care about dated rooms and are seeking a good price as the priority.
