Wingate by Wyndham Kansas City - Hotel in Kansas City - 7333 NE Parvin Rd, USA

An ALIVE cockroach was found on a bed by a family member, water leaking from somewhere into the carpet by the bed near the bathroom. Room #208 and #210 have a conjoined door in between rooms that have blood stains on it. Bathroom was not wiped down on the counters, the AC did not work in #208. My mother got charged a whole extra $100 and then the next day got a $50 refund to her account when brought up with the front desk lady. Don't remember her name but she copped an attitude when we brought up that issue as well as telling her we had #208 reserved but because of Morgan Wallen coming to KC over the weekend she said that they had to give that room away because it was not paid for yet and proceeded to get an attitude with my husband and my mother instead of trying to figure out a solution. We went from room #226 which didn't have any issues besides not being wiped down well enough, to room #208 the next day which had all of those issues with it. My family and I will NEVER go back here!!!! We already paid so much money to stay there so we were stuck in that situation, it was NOT worth the amount of money we paid to stay in some garbage dump. Breakfast was disgusting, the pool is not being maintained well. Someone got cut on the pool stairs handle and warned me since my oldest was playing by those stairs. 0/10 stars!!!!! DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!! Please stay anywhere else!!!!!!

Hotel is located away from all venues. It is easy access within 15 minutes to the city and T-Mobile Center. I would not recommend this particular Wingate. My friend and I were there and she slipped going into the pool and hurt her back they had to help her out of the pool and their explanation was the paint was thick and I suggested they get different texture for footing. Breakfast is served till 9 a.m. prompt and consists of eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy and bagels and yogurt and waffles. Juice is watered down. I do believe in the homeless having a place to stay but they were literally coming in for coffee and sleeping and laying in cabana chairs by the dining hall and walking around the stairwell that goes to the rooms. (X3) If the above does not bother you or your family with small children then this is your place to stay. It was very hot outside and the pool area did offer a shower area and bathrooms.

Very good value for a hotel right across the Interstate from Worlds of Fun. Pool, fitness center, breakfast. The pool was really cool. Biggest one I have seen in a smaller hotel. Room was clean. You can tell it's an older property, but as long as it's clean and my a/c works- no worries there. Shared parking lot with several fast food restaurants and a gas station. Bar area in the lobby that is open in the evenings.

I made the mistake of booking here because this hotel was the cheapest of the strip of hotels close to worlds of fun. I was led astray by the photos of the cool lobby and the three star average. I think several years ago people actually liked staying here and left the hotel good reviews but recently the vast majority of people that stay have thought it was awful or just bad, so the three star score on google doesn't actually reflect the current quality of the hotel. There was a lot wrong with this hotel, what they did right was the breakfast was ok and the pool was open. Staff successfully checked us in and out of the hotel. TV had cable. Unfortunately, I brought my girlfriend out here to enjoy the weekend together and the shabbiness of our room immediately killed the vibe. At a cursory glance my room was pretty bad, there were lots of stains on the floor, even the room's phone had a crazy stain on it, and I immediately noticed that cobwebs had accumulated in every visible corner of the room. There were gnats flying around in the room and some other bugs crawling on the walls. At some point I dropped my keys on the floor and when I went to pick them up, I realized that the housekeepers have been sweeping all of the dirt, crumbs, and trash under the bed. The lobby only either smelled like cigarettes or deodorizer, and I'm not sure which was worse. We check out and I think it's all over when suddenly my girlfriend remembers she forgot her swimsuit in the bathroom. We go back a few hours after we check out and her swimsuit had disappeared from the room and the front desk lady insinuated that my girlfriend was acting crazy and they go into it. Suffice to say it was overall a bad experience. I'd probably have more problems to share about this place but luckily I only booked for a night.

The best thing about this hotel is location. Aside from that, the place is overall gross. 1. Bed in the king suite was an old spring mattress left over from what felt like the last century. 2. The towels were so scratchy you could use them as sandpaper. 3. The pool area is poorly maintained, very old and ill kept. And if you have a room facing the pool don't plan to go to bed until after 10pm 4. There is NOT a game room/arcade as suggested 5. There is not a bar 6. Customer service was abysmal, the person at the desk for the evening we checked in did not offer information about what facilities they have or hours. 7. Food for the breakfast is subpar, I recommend going to the Waffle House next door.

DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! I booked 2 nights and was in town for a concert. The AC would not cool lower than 80 degrees. We switch to another room that was cooler only to wake up to cockroaches all over the bathroom. As I was looking for another hotel one crawled across the bed… YUCK!!! We left immediately and found another hotel that was clean and no issues. The health department needs to shut this place down.

Never here EVER Overwhelming Chemical/paint smell when 1st opened to lobby, desk said pool was painted. Homeless in lobby checking in and in the parking lot. Overwhelmed with smell, in halls and in our room, of heavy deodorizer. I felt like it covered my skin. It burned my nostrils all night. Dirty and needed maintenance! Air conditioner blew out more odors! Spots on bathroom ceiling. AC gurgled for many minutes after kicking off. Could not sleep, fearing zombie from the elevator was coming in our room.

The beds were really comfortable. Cleanliness is an issue. There was spilled food and paper on the steps when we arrived and it was still there 5 days later. The room was clean enough except for the sheers that had stains all over them. It looked like someone shook a can of dark pop and sprayed the sheets. Dirty windows in the room too. The shower: the plumbing was about to come out of the wall and the water was barely warm enough. Staff was attentive to our requests. All in all, the hotel needs a makeover, paint and some repairs. The price was good and it’s close to Worlds of Fun.
