this is predominately a time share resort. we chose to do a vacation exchange to stay here at the windward passage resort. this place isn't going to win any beauty contest or be clumped in with 4 star resorts, but what it does have to offer makes it a great place to stay in FMB.||#1 it is location is perfect. about 1/2 mile down the road from the "times square" shopping area & all the chaos, there are tons of restaurants nearby, close access to bridge to get off island, and close to accessing sanibel & captiva islands.||#2 the beach is great. it is primarily private. the resort offers FREE lounge chairs that you can use on the beach. they even offer cushion & umbrella rentals for like only $10 FOR USE FOR THE WHOLE WEEK. cheap! remember to bring your own beach towel, they don't offer them. ||#3 the parking lot is also great as it has most spots located undercover, out of the rays of the sun. the neat thing is that the concrete covering over the parking spots, features tennis court/basket ball court on top.||now for the rest of the details: yes, it is very dated! the room lay out, especially with the grossly over sized appliances in the kitchen, the decor, etc. isn't pretty, BUT we didn't come here to hang out in the room the whole time, but if you did, the screened in balcony is great, the room was comfortable and clean. they also have a laundry room that is FREE to use. ||the pool is small, crowded and people try to scam a table/loungers early by putting all their stuff on them & then going back to their room. this is frowned upon by the resort, but NOT enforced. we did not use the pool at all, too many people & kids, throwing balls, hanging out for hours but never getting out of the water, despite they are drinking, i don't want to swim in a toilet and that seemed to be what was going on. plus most of the kids were totally unsupervised, running amok while their drunk parents sat around tossing more drinks back. also, their smoking policy is not really enforced. people were smoking around the pool and the designated smoking area is where the bbq grills are, but the smoke rises up to the rooms above. ||the one thing that really caught me by surprise is that they still use hard metal keys to access your room. if you lose it, you're charged a fee. if you get locked out, after reception hours, there is a $25 fee to have somebody drive in to unlock your room.||otherwise, i think what this "resort" has to offer far outweighs any complaints. we would come back again, but only to stay in the main building
This resort is on the best spot on Ft Myers Beach, yes the place is older, some say its outdated. I say its perfect! The resort is very clean! The people are super nice ! The location is the best. It is 100% safe . The walk down to the pier is great . The girls in the office are very efficient ! I work hard and when I get down to the beach I want a nice quiet place to relax..this is just what I find at Windward Passage..
It's great. Nice staff but we had our chairs taken out from under us before dusk so they could lock them up. We had to sit on the sand for over an hour and a half and wait to watch the sunset.
This resort was totally unacceptable and has gone downhill since I stayed here many years ago. It is in desperate need of repair and updating and really needs a thorough cleaning. You would not want to walk barefoot in the unit because your feet would turn black. The decor was awful, nothing matched and was very uncomfortable. |The kitchen was totally difficult to work in, |It was so small and very poorly engineered. The floor tiles were cracking everywhere and fixed with duct tape. The elevator quit working at some point every day and on checkout day it broke twice. The bathroom was not cleaned properly and there were nasty stains in theToilet. I would not recommend this place to anyone! The only good thing was the location and unfortunately the week I was there there was a red tide and reports of flesh eating bacteria so it was not safe to go swimming in the Gulf. Beware!!!
Went to Fort Myers for the first time ever, had a beach front condo that was a single bedroom but was absolutely adorable for a couple. The only downside to this property is the tenants would start there laundry and then go to the beach for hrs not allowing anyone else to use the machines. Besides that I recommend it, the traffic was a bit to much coming on the Island. It would take about :15 mi minutes to get off the Island but :45 minutes to an hr to return, account of people trying to get to the beach. The sunsets was BEAUTIFUL
It was very good. Very clean!||||With a killer view of the beach! No matter we’re you were in the living room or kitchen you could enjoy the view. ||||Wished we had more time but it was only a mini get away.||We recommend to anyone.
We could not enjoy the pool for the first few days until we learned the trick. You have to go to the pool before 8am and put a towel on the chase lounges and table to mark your turf or they are all gone for the entire day. Kinda ruined our stay. This could be better managed. Otherwise, if you want to rent an umbrella & sit in the sand, its a great place.
The view was great. The pool and hot tub were very nice and clean. Typical beach type room. Only negative was the rooms are extremely small. We enjoyed our visit and beach walks. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

Just 3 months ago my family had a vacation here, and according to photos I have seen coming from Fort Myers Beach after Hurricane Ian, it does appear that the entire building has been washed away. I really hope they can rebuild, it was such a great p
I never should have moved any of my clothes down from Wisconsin. I live in their clothes! They are age appropriate, and very stylish. I am also short and curvy and everything fits so well.
Captain Neil brought my friend and I out for quite an adventure. I honestly donât have much experience fishing and Neil taught me a bunch. He kept me focused and on point so I can catch most of the fish that bit my line. Neil is not only an expert
This is a very nice long beach, and it's a hidden gem for those seeking solitude. On top, they have some nice trails to hike. The price for parking is more than fair. The stretch of shoreline is extensive, providing ample opportunities to find a quie

I love coming to fort Myers beach I have been for years. I have always stayed at another place but this year we wanted to try some place different and I would have to say this place is absolutely perfect! The owners are wonderful and inviting people.
Nice beach with soft sand, great for building sand sculptures. Plenty of room to spread out and set up canopies. There are clean air conditioned bathrooms/changing rooms. Plenty of metered parking by kiosk or mobile app. Make sure you park in a mar
What a stunning knock dead gorgeous place. Beautiful beaches, estuaries, and Discovery Center. We first stopped at the Discovery Center to get the lay of the land, so to speak. We were met by Glenda, a docent who volunteers her time here. Very pleas
