Windermere is a decent apartment to live. Pros: 1.When you have any issues with your appliances, they immediately respond and fix it. 2.They have also fixed smart locks and thermostat so it is more convenient to use. 3.It is also a safe place we didn't find any theft until we lived there. 4.There are nearby grocery stores. Cons: 1.It is not a gated community. 2. Some of the appliances are very old which they didn't upgrade. 3.Laundry services are out side and not inhouse. As there are limited machines inside the buildings, we need to wait for people to finish their laundry.
Satisfactory service and prompt responses. However, I encountered restrictions such as the disapproval of placing a bird feeder on my balcony and sun-drying area rugs due to concerns about their environmental impact and potential attraction of birds and wildlife. I did notice several instances of pumpkins in residents' buildings, which raised questions about the consistency of these rules. It would be beneficial to receive clear guidelines regarding what is permitted and what is not when it comes to balcony decor and activities.
I am a new renter here at Windemere but I am pleased with the service I’ve received so far. Faith and Brandon in the office were both so helpful at every step of getting me into my apartment, from giving an informative tour to quickly dealing with application issues to changing my preferred unit/move-in date as needed. I chose this complex because it was the top rated one in the area that had openings, it’s super affordable for today’s rates, and I have previously rented with Edward Rose management and enjoyed it! I continue to be happy with my choice because of things like the smart lock and thermostat system, the quick responsiveness of the staff, and the peacefulness of the property. After 4 months living here, my only critiques are that the communal areas like the hallway carpets and laundry room are not the cleanest, and that since my move in, there haven’t been any visible parking lines in the parking lot of my building. It isn’t a huge deal, but it wastes parking space and makes things unnecessarily difficult when the lot gets full. Before this I’ve never lived somewhere that didn’t paint their parking lot lines.
Doug did an amazing job on our maintenance request. Fast, efficient and clean. I only want him to come for all our maintenance issues.
When I was in active duty, I had left my key to a friend of mine to check on fish and plants. The building door, and key was changed, and he lost access to the building. They made me add him to my lease to hand the new key. Eventually I had him move to my apt on the lease agreement. Some time later on, because of him I felt behind my rental bill as well some other adult responsibilities. It came to the point where an eviction had been filed against me, I wasn't evicted, I paid off, and the rest of the months I did make payments as I should, but at the end of the lease term I was offered month-to-month agreement which brings rental cost significantly higher, and so much stress. That's the way that they kicked me off where I called 'home'...what happened was very frustrating. I can't get over it.
The leasing office is nice, and the houses are okay. There is smell of weed in my building and people who smoke and bang your door late night randomly, doesn’t feel safe definitely. The leasing office would not do anything about that because weed is legal. You can not put camera at your door because, they don’t allow it. The balcony above my house leaks so my balcony is pouring during rains. The leasing office said they will not fix it, even when I mentioned it while signing the inspection sheet. They did fix my bathtub since it was leaking the house below mine. It’s a good place to stay if you don’t face any problems in the first place.
On balance, the apartments in Windmere are affordable, safe, and maintanence usually comes quickly (usually the next day). However, last month I was on a trip in the montains and the apartment complex sent an email for everyone to move their car out of the parking lot the next day for a sidewalk construction. The email was unclear in the wording and did not have the image that should be attached. Regardless, the next day they called me and without my consent decided to tow my brand new car away. Someone also scratched the front bumper while they were working on the sidewalk. Coming back from the trip, I suddenly have a scratch on my new car that costs $1000+ to fix and was asked to pay the $350 towing fee (which is marked as “damage” on my account as if I have damaged something). I have talked to the apartment management for a few times in good faith and it is still not solved. I was basically told via the insurance company of the apartment that this is “not their fault”. While this may be an unfortunate event, it is totally preventable. It is a little ridiculous that out of nowhere I suddenly have a reduction of $1400 in value because the apartment could not plan and notify a construction in advance.
Update: it's sad I have to make a review to get my issue taken care of. After spraying the area by maintenance I still seen more bees coming in. I sprayed the area myself and it helped for a bit until I was stung on my face in the middle of the night. I am so uncomfortable and pissed. Bees have been coming into my apartment for the past 5 days and my patio door is closed. I've called the office and at first they didn't even put in a work order for my issue until like 2 days ago even though I called Saturday to get this sorted out. I called again after they told me the exterminator would come today so I wanted to know a time because more bees are coming into my apartment than I can handle. I was told that the work order was not picked up yet because it's not considered an emergency. I have dog in my apartment and dont wanna be stung by anything in the comfort of my home. After having the break-ins that was happening with the neighbors and my car, and you guys raising the rent these past few years, and raising the cost of the washing machines and dryers I would still consider someone to live here but this lack of urgency is unacceptable. It shouldn't be to a point where I'm being harmed to make it an emergency. I had plans on staying a few more years but unfortunately this will be my last year living in these apartments. I really regret signing my lease for another year.
