Our family had a nice time here. So much to do besides the cave. Our favorite was the Rankin Ridge Trail. Such a nice view and the wind in the pines was so nice! We did the Fairgrounds Tour. Nice length tour & the guide was very knowledgeable. The Box work formations are beautiful. Easy to spend a half to a full day depending on what u do there.

The park rangers are helpful and informative. If you are trying to buy tickets the day of for a cave tour, you need to get here early. The rangers stated tours usually sell out by noon or early afternoon. If you know what type of tour you want, it is recommended to purchase tickets ahead of time. They have the junior ranger program here. It was busy when we came here on a Sunday. The parking lot had most of the spaces taken. The cave tours are decent, but don’t expect to be wowed if you have been on other cave tours. While there are unique features of this cave, there isn’t a main feature like a waterfall, lake, etc. Just FYI, you do not actually walk into a natural entrance on the Natural Entrance tour.

Located just south of Custer State Park, Wind Cave is a beautiful, if sometimes overlooked area of the Badlands. I saw abundant wildlife and beautiful scenery everywhere. At the northern most part of the park I also hiked up to a fire watch tower. One note: as of later Sept 2023, they were not offering cave tours due to elevator repair. I was told it would be back up by mid/late Oct 2023.

We came up for the national park and the elevator is closed currently for the cave. So we looked up things to do on their Facebook page and came over for an evening ranger program on elk! There is a nice path around the visitor center with picnic tables. We saw mule deer and bison. If this review helps you, give us a thumbs up! #crazykleinadventure

A must see and experience this wonderful place! Bring your camera and lots of batteries! The vistas are breathtaking and the wild life is too. But please remember this is NOT a petting zoo. It’s a park with real WILD life- they are not in cages or behind fences. It’s their space.

This was a really cool cave tour. The Ranger was extremely knowledgeable and made the experience enjoyable. I liked the Natural walking tour, but there are so many different types of cave tours. You can literally get a different experience each time. Wear comfortable shoes, ones with decent traction. Take a jacket with you. It is cold in the cave, even during the hottest summer days. You can not take any bags or purses in the cave.

We had an amazing time here. We spent two days exploring the park and caves. Excellent rangers. They were incredibly helpful and kind. Can’t wait to come back. My daughter really enjoyed the Jr Ranger program.

Elevators were down so no cave tours. New part on order to fix. Great above ground tours and ranger talks. Rangers friendly and helpful. Great Bison viewing!
