Wilma's Famous BBQ - Fast food restaurant in Dolton - 1223 Sibley Blvd, USA

Well yes, I finally tried Wilma's BBQ. I placed my order online for lunch so I can just go pick it up. I get there. They're working on the parking lot so it took me a little bit to get a park spot because the parks were limited, and me trying to park is another story. I needed to order some baked beans because it wasn't part of the online order so I let them know that I was picking up and they told me to go to the register to pay for the beans. My order was ready. I drove home and open the goodies and everything looked great and delicious. I got the lunch specials: chicken wing special with fries, pork hot links with fries, and a small rib tip with fries. Everything came with a slice of bread. The only thing when ordering online it does not give you the option to order side orders or to order sauce on your chicken. So make sure you you pick up some sauce before you leave. The chicken was fresh. The fries were delicious. The tips were cut great. They were the perfect size. The hot link was great. You only get one for lunch so be aware of that. I purchased all of this for about $22. Great bargain! If you haven't been to Wilma's you need to go. My husband said the barbecue sauce reminded him of BBQ Kingdom restaurant that was on 5100 West on Madison Street in the Austin area. The place we grew up on had some of the best barbecue, but is no longer in business. I will be trying the turkey tips on my next trip. You want some good old barbecue? This is the place to be.

The tips and wings were delicious but they were not hot. It was our first time visiting so we tasted it in the car. It was room temperature after waiting 20 minutes for it. That bag should have been burning our legs in the car! Even the fries were cold. After putting it in the oven at home it was very tasty. The wings were perfect! We only got one piece of bread to split between us. The sauce is really good! I also like the order system that lets you know your order is ready. Very little seating inside so this makes it convenient to go sit in your vehicle. It kind of dark inside. The young lady, Zariya J, taking the orders was very professional, kind and had a great sense of humor. Would I return? Yes I would but I would request HOT food. Oh and the sign on the door says CLOSED which threw us off at first.

We dined at the Chicago downtown location and had an incredibly pleasant experience with our waitress Erica. It felt like family. Chef D’Andre Miller was so kind. I’m looking forward to going back. The catfish was my absolute favorite, but the other dishes we tried (shrimp/wings/turkey tips/mac n cheese/greens/yams) were tasty too.

This place gets 5 stars! The bbq is better than Leon’s, and I57 put together. The establishment is so busy prepare to eat in your car or at home. The customer service, temperature, and quality of the food is amazing everything was made fresh. Please spend the extra gas money to come and find out for yourself.

literally the best barbecue place to eat in the entire world. My daughter loves going here to get barbecue food. This place will always be a place that I would get barbecue food from. The fries with the barbecue sauce is so delicious.

My friend and I visited the location at 17 N. Wabash Avenue in Chicago on the 2nd floor. The first person we came in contact with to let her know we had reservations was quite curt. Once she walked us to an area we didn't want to sit at she took us of course to another area located by the windows. The tabl as well as the chairs were dirty so, we asked her to please clean them if she was able too do so. She half cleaned the table and didn't touch the chairs at all. At that point I was ready to leave but I saw a gentleman behind the bar who I was going to ask if I could have something to clean the area myself. He said give him a minute and he would be right over, he never came. Now it's about ten minutes or more then our server who was so pleasant made up for the fact how everything else was going. Because of her we decided to stay. BIG MISTAKE. Half of our food arrived cold, the charge of $5 for a soda with no refills, no items as pricey as the food was had no side, oh French fries. Child please, plus a gratuity charge was added to the bill but we were never informed of it by our server or any of the other staff. I had the pork rib tips which were tough because they should have been cooked at ten to fifteen minutes longer. My friend and the turkey tips which were much better along with the macaroni and cheese which should have been thrown straight in the garbage disposal. While I understand that businesses have trials and errors when first opening, they should also put there best foot forward in every area. If you never ran a sit down restaurant, have a night for just people who are also in your profession and build your establishment up fro their negative and positive feedback. Customers should always, always be informed by the staff of a gratuity surcharge. And physical menus should always be available for customers, not just digital ones as all people are savoy enough to use such, especially senior citizens. I don't think I would recommend this establishment at this time to anyone. Who ever they have as an consultan if there is one is truly setting them up for failure.

Fresh and finger licking good!! Turkey tips are sooooo yummy. My mom enjoys the fried shrimp. The only thing missing was the cole slaw. This is a picture of my half eaten turkey tips 🤣

Now this is some good BBQ! I traveled to come and try them out and it was worth the distance, price, and wait. I went around 4pm and they were packed when I walked in, but they were handling the line quickly. Considering the amount of people inside, the wait wasn’t too bad, about 25-30 minutes. The customer service was friendly. The cashier was really nice and answered questions with no problem. The sauce is a perfect mix of sweet heat and I love it! I got the Tips, Link, & Wings combo (as pictured), and it was $25. I also got the taffy grapes but I don’t remember exactly how much they were, around $3-$5. In total I paid a little over $34. It’s a little pricey but you pay for what you get, as in the photos you can see you get a lot of food. I’ll be back for more! Try them out, you won’t be disappointed.
