William Kirsch Preserve within Ranch North Woods - Nature preserve in Little Rock - 8803 Ranch Blvd, USA

Loved this nature trail. The trail was flat and would have been easy to navigate but we went after a rain so it was pretty muddy. But it was so beautiful! You can canoe for free. Free life jackets on site. And I saw my first bald eagle!

What a great place to get out on some Black water! Park and the dock is a 100 yards from the parking lot! Great Little dock. Paddle out a little ways and you’re right in the middle of the little Maumelle river. Make a left and you can paddle down and see pinnacle mountain. What a breathtaking view! Bring a fishing pole and get ready to catch fish! I have taking my mountain bike here as well! Great Place to ride bikes! Great hiking trails and beautiful places to have a picnic!

Get trail for hiking, running, biking. I think the loop is about 2.5-3 miles. There are kayaks to use (please take care of them). You can do shaded trails through the woods or stay by the fields. Saw a couple deer. Really enjoyed it. Very little elevation change, close to none.

We were surprised to find this so close to town! Although we were not able to explore some trails or the put-in because the trails are overgrown with weeds and thorn bushes. I don't believe there are any water fountains or restrooms. But its a nice place to just walk around and get outside!

I have really enjoyed the updates to this area since it was first purchased by the Nature Conservancy. The understory of the wooded areas is quite incredible and clean due to controlled burns. The trails cut in the large field provides views of Pinnacle Mountain and of the flowers and birds that inhabit the area. There is a small boardwalk, a bow-and-arrow target, picnic table and a few other small things that add a nice touch to visiting this place. It's incredibly peaceful for being so close to a heavily trafficked area. The river is dotted with many cypress trees and lily pads creating a great wetland type environment. It's a peaceful place to take a walk and check out the river habitats. Big thing to be aware of if visiting is to wear shoes for mud because a lot of this preserve stays soggy and muddy for quite awhile after any precipitation. Also, the trails are not always mowed through the field. Additionally, if it's warm there can be a lot of bugs so insect spray is a good idea. Also note that there are no restrooms or water fountains so go prepared!

This is a very pleasant trail and was marked very well. There were fire circles with areas to sit along with picnic tables.

Beautiful place to walk with views of Pinnacle Mountain and the Little Maumelle River. Gravel road and mowed, mulched and natural surface trails for walking.
