A quick visit near Red Bluff. Nice little visitors center for historic facts.

The adobe itself has been rebuilt after the big oak tree (now cut down, alas) dropped a large branch on it. It's a pleasant enough stop if you're in the area. They do living history events occasionally. There's a short walk up a hill (not an accessible trail) for a nice view of the river, and a visitor center with much more of the history. The visitor center is a modern building and accessible. The adobe area is on relatively level, smooth ground, but it is dirt, so plan accordingly if walking is a challenge. Nothing is very far from the parking lot. Parking costs $6 as of 2023.

Fall in love with a property? Yes i have.. This one is tops in my book, for one of the best simplistic basic understanding of size, and really all a unit needs to succeed for a serious long time good foundation, and function to any family, that does grow their own, two get square, and dance again this is freaking cute community. Spread this through to all news, how to know many many of these same feet can we build, to give us all our own set like these once worked, caring for it's start, for always amazing finishes. Had to camp.last minute host is a mean mean lady. We weren't prepared she was rude granted the truck is quite loud a little understanding would have been.

Not much to see really. All the setting is generic homestead style stuff. The river runs aside is scenic though.

Cool park with plenty of tables in the picnic area and some cool history to explore, right alongside the river.

Nice park right off the interstate, lots of history here. Smaller parking lot in the wintertime.

Its the first time ive visited and been able to visit inside of the visitors center. Its a museum of sorts and has some interesting items for sale including those old school candy sticks! (That are basically a candy cane without the top hook part)and a few of the flavors, like buttered rum.... Unique and delicious! Only downfall here = there are no spots to set everything down and get in the water - most spots where its not cliff meets water are better for fishing versus swimming
