Very nice fish hatchery to visit for free. You can buy fish food there or bring you own. Lots of trail in the area along with wildlife.
Great place along the Animas River. Very tranquil with a quiet low lying riverbed. The night was extremely cold as we aren't expecting the chill thAt came around 330 AM. Prepare for the cold if you have that option. FIND IT AND GO!!!
Only a short walk from downtown on the beautiful river trail of Durango is this wonderful place of family fun, learning and ty he best part it's free. They offer a live fish hatchery where for 25 cents you can feed the fish yourself. Its as always fun to see the fish go food crazy weather you have food in had or not. They also offer a wonderful museum. It's open Monday thru Saturday from 10 am to 5pm and Sunday from 11 to 3pm. Stop in for a short 15 min film and then see and learn about the wildlife of the area. They also offer activities for the young children. This should be a definite stop when visiting Durango Colorado.
Good place to learn it about local species of animals and fish. You get to feel different animals skins. You can feed the trout in the Fishery area. And learn about how they raise and release the trout.
I can't give a review for the museum, as it's closed from September to May! I didn't look to see if that was on the overview, but good to know.
We really enjoy stopping by to see the fish at our local Fish and Wildlife (& Hatchery) while on our daily walks.
Such an adorable weird little outing-- the Hatchery and Fishery! They have all the fish out in these troughs and you can feed them out of 25 cent gumball style machines! Right next to Animas Brewery so you can grab a beer in the sun afterwards :)
I love me some trail running here! Lots of trails !
I started in August by doing the body evolution program at Summit and lost over 20 pounds, and I am still losing weight and feeling stronger every day from attending the group classes regularly at Summit. The trainers are great and the classes are fu
Beautiful trail, now one of our favorite hikes. The views for most of the hike are beautiful. If you're going to the lakes, make a left at the fork and go clockwise. If you do so, the incline will be gradual. If you go to the right, the incline will
I like higher end coffee and not super sweet specialty drinks. Basically coffee done well. This place hit the target for me. Good coffee. I got the seasonal Caramel Pumpkin Latte. Not too sweet
This place is amazing. Itâs a great dog-friendly spot with picnic tables overlooking gorgeous farmland and mountains aplenty. The Signature Burger was cooked to perfection and the flavors we spot on. The fingerling French fries has me questioning w
This is definitely a must stay place! Location is wonderful and the rooms are terrific! Friendly staff and rooms are well stocked and love all the antique furniture, we will definitely book this place again in the future! Love it!
Heading out to Durango asked the check out attendant at the hotel desk for brunch recommendation with parking (wanted to avoid downtown schlepp). Rupert's was recommended for great parking AND great brunch. They delivered perfectly, great meal, f
I had an amazing time here with my family while visiting Durango. We ordered three types of crepes: turkey, provolone, and lingonberries; chicken and wild mushrooms, and lemon cream. We also ordered French onion soup. We also got complimentary apple
This was a 3.94 mile hike from the trailhead. This is a popular, heavily traveled section of the CT. The trail is great and the views are terrific. But from Gudy's Rest proper, the views are absolutely delicious. It's a great place to stop and admire
Friendly service. I ordered the roast beef, it was yummy. Probably the best Au Jus I've ever had, it actually had flavor besides just salty brown water. All seat inside are hightops, but outside, they have picnic like tables.
